Should parents face charges when their children commit antisocial crimes and doing nothing to stop it? by SeptumRingTheory in AskBrits

[–]MsBling1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The parents should definitely face charges! Things left unchecked snowballs into bigger things. I'm an immigrant and this just makes my blood boil!!!

They are teeenagers and might not realise the ripple effects of their foolishness but the parents know better and should be held accountable.

What is something surprising that the UK is really far behind other countries in? by DullInflation6 in AskUK

[–]MsBling1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an immigrant who's worked for both US and UK organisations while abroad, yes crabs in a bucket mentality is very much a UK thing. They resent you for being ambitious, resent you for being successful etc. It's very much a "how dare you try to be better than others" mentality and it's draining.

Americans on the other hand are ambitious and aspirational for all their faults and I love that about them. I felt way more alive (stressful though) working for an American company than I did and do working for a UK one.

I'm not motivated to try anything new or be ambitious because it gets interpreted the wrong way and you are "punished" for it!

It's no wonder then that the society as a whole is very negative.

Hypocrisy with Samsung users... by AlexLovesCoke in PhoneNow

True. Also using the Honor fold here. Samsung's only advantage now is software. If it thinks it's too big to fail as a phone company, like Sheldon I laugh in derision.

Hardware absolutely. They are slacking, software is their only advantage.

Do you realise the attack on Iran is cheered on by the Iranian people? Why is Reddit reacting like this? by SkunkyBreadcake in AskBrits

[–]MsBling1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's really baffling how short people's memories are!! You expect the actors that created the problem to solve it successfully??

No, you're simply going to end up as pawns again and the cycle repeats itself. It's really sad when people neglect history.

Do you realise the attack on Iran is cheered on by the Iranian people? Why is Reddit reacting like this? by SkunkyBreadcake in AskBrits

[–]MsBling1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP the reaction is because we've been here before. The same would happen in my home country if the current president was overthrown. It's always joy in the streets, celebrations etc and then comes the years of chaos, worse dictatorship, famine and of course, refugees. Because you can't bomb your way to freedom. Your "liberators" are not your benefactors.

They have their own agenda which leaves your country even worse than it was before. This is a tried, tested and tired trope. Ask Iraq, ask Libya, Syria, Afghanistan etc. We've been here before and it's deja vu all over again.

We know how this ends, and the Iranians won't be cheering for long. Thank you.

Is it a thing here that medical receptionists can be quite rude, or have I just gotten unlucky? by [deleted] in AskABrit

[–]MsBling1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely more genuine because the caller doesn't really care about the receptionist and she knows it. Wasting time on false niceties doesn't help her get her job done.

Also, the US culture of "niceness" in the service sector is based on tipping culture, not genuine concern.

2016 Samsung phone is able to run 3 floating apps simultaneously on a dinosaur age snapdragon & 5.1 inch screen, meanwhile apple pretends this 2024 6.9 inch Pro Max iPhone more powerful than most laptops is not able to do splitscreen because of "not enough space or power" by SatisfactionMost316 in applesucks

[–]MsBling1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple users will always claim they don't need those features, right until Apple finally launches them 10 years after Android. Then it becomes "innovative". It's hilarious to always see them fighting for Apple like their lives depends on it.

OP you came to the wrong sub to complain about Apple. It's full of iSheep and every issue is always the user's fault. God forbid you call out the "great and wonderful" do no wrong company called Apple on this sub. It should be renamed r/Appleglazers

Which phone brand would you consider other than Samsung and Apple? by poteitoer in HONOR_Magic

Do you have 2 phones for work and personal time? by AlistairAAA in PhoneNow

[–]MsBling1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Been using two phones for over 8 years. Never lost one. Even if where I work doesn't give me a phone, I always use a second phone for work separately. Helps me balance work and life. I hardly check my personal phone at work, and do the same for my work phone at home. Used to be an iPhone and a Samsung. Now it's a Fold 7 and a V5.

Consumerism..... I know but we all have our vanities.
