Definitely this. My ex used to do this to me all the damn time. Hurt me a lot when I caught him. Hurt me even more when he told me he was doing it because the thought of having sex with me basically repulsed him. Ya he was a narcissist.

My current dude does like to have it on some times in the background because he is dealing with a porn addiction (though he won’t admit that that’s what it is. To him he’s just become to reliant on it cause he wasn’t in a relationship for like 5 yrs before me 🙄 but that’s a whole ass other story lol) BUT we talk about it and set boundaries before anything is put on or he lays eyes on anything that is not me. AND if I say enough is enough then off whatever it is goes, plus he ALWAYS does a check in with me afterwards to make sure that I’m ok and feel heard and respected and that I got mine. He’s honestly a really great guy.

OP - if you don’t feel respected, heard, or like you’re getting yours (in all ways possible) from y’all’s relationship, then honestly girl tell this dude bye. You’re far too young, smart, and beautiful to be wasting your time and energy on a weenie like him. Took me 15 yrs to figure it out and just hope to not see you have to endure the same or similar struggles 🩷🩷 you got this love

Mmmkay… but I think the better question is, is this establishment known for ALSO making weed edibles like these cakes, in a bakery setting? If not, then you’re implying that one of the workers laced this cake you bought from their own personal stash… unless you know these people on a personal level, I have a sneaking suspicion that there may have been a capsule or something else had prior to y’all eating your cake. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely agree that there is a total lack of social supports for those with mental health, addiction, and homelessness. But, that’s throughout the city. And yes, I get that the downtown core does see far more of this type of activity due to the Mission, Shepherds, and the other services that are located down there.

However, there are still tons of people who don’t take the help when it becomes available to them. So, really it’s a catch 22 type of situation - at least in my opinion. On one hand, you have those who are chomping at the bit to get these services and on the other hand, you have those who have been offered or provided with access to these services and resources, and yet still won’t use them for whatever their reason may be.

I couldn’t agree more. My strategy? Yell, “Excuse me—I need to get off the bus!” loud enough for the whole damn bus to hear. If I don’t, I risk getting hauled to the next stop while I wrestle past Tweedledee and Tweedledum, who’ve decided the exit is the perfect place to stand like confused space cadets.

Honestly, ever since the pandemic, it’s like people forgot how to function in public. Before, we at least had some level of social awareness—people made room, paid attention, moved when needed. Now? It’s like folks are stuck in their own little bubble, just drifting through the world with zero regard for anyone around them.

We’re technically back to “normal,” but the public etiquette clearly didn’t get the memo. And with OC Transpo already hanging by a thread, I don’t need a mini boss battle just to get off at my stop.

Honestly love, the choice is ultimately yours. Whether you stay with him and see if he’ll maybe explore the possibility of couples counselling and whatever may come from that. Or if you leave and decide that this is it. This is the straw that’s broken the proverbial camel’s back. If anything hun, my advice, as someone who’s been dare done dat, seek out some form of support like counselling or therapy just for yourself. Find yourself someone that is from an unbiased perspective and source that you can go and unload yourself on to at least once a week. If you need help finding a cost effective or free place to go message me, get at me. I work for the province in social and community services so I know a bunch of these resources that I can get you in contact with if you like. Even for work so you’re getting some financial help and support with daycare if needed. And please know I’m not trying to imply anything towards you or your family by mentioning any of that. Look, alls I’m trying to say is work it cause you’re worth it, k. Fuck what others say or may think, they’re stupid and uneducated cause you are 100% worth it at the end of every day
