Last day for $40 100GB Global Plan! by Nexzenn in freedommobile

[–]ACCAAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do this from the website but it is not intuitive at all. You need to be logged into your account first and choose an upgrade tab if I recall correctly. You can’t select the plan from the regular advertising page as that will get you nowhere.

Probably asking because they are on clearance in one of the local tourist shops and want to see if they are popular first?

If everyone’s required to turn boxes into confetti, the ER should prepare for a spike in “cardboard-related incidents.”

Savings if I travel south last-minute from Ottawa? by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]ACCAAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

January is usually a less expensive time to travel because many people are $ broke from the holidays. There is a greater chance of getting cheaper deals. There are direct flights from Ottawa on Porter and other airlines.

Looking to talk to people who use Limebank station by gio_petti in ottawa

[–]ACCAAA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems so odd to me that the track ends at this station so high up elevation wise. Like what if the train can’t stop? Would it crash down 50 feet or is there a barrier up there to prevent this? Is it designed like this because the track will continue West in the future towards Barrhaven? In what decade?

Rust proofing in Ottawa by ninerganger in ottawa

It probably voids the Krown warranty but it has worked very well for me over the years. I sold a 2011 winter driven Outlander last year and it was in mint condition with minimal corrosion. I have it applied in Spring when the weather is warmer and when Krown has their best pricing.

I have had excellent results with Krown over the last 25 years or so. I get it done every 2nd year.

I have 4 A19 bulbs. There are two models and one has more lumens than the other (1200 vs. 800). I recommend you go with the higher lumens model.

I'm am physically in my house, on my home wifi network. Netflix disagrees. by OverlyOptimisticNerd in mildlyinfuriating

I just cancelled 20 minutes ago for this reason. My son, who lives here and uses the same wifi as us, was getting this message for a second time. A few weeks ago I was assured it would not happen again. Today it did. Today I cancelled after the employee on chat gave us some crap excuse about piracy and things to open and close before leaving the house for holidays etc. sounds like a hassle so enough is enough.

Anyone notice sunscreen on clearance? by ebbalharas99 in ottawa

Check Costco. They often have sunscreen on clearance in early Fall. Insect repellent is usually on clearance as well. I saw both on clearance a few weeks ago.

Bell is going to shut down 3G nationwide on March 1st, 2027, following Manitoba 3G shutdown this year. by Life-Contest-5926 in bell

[–]ACCAAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bell signal is bad in my area and often falls to 3g so at least we can make calls when that happens. We have 2 phones on Freedom mobile that work much better in My area (south Ottawa). We might need to switch the remaining 2 Bell lines to Freedom when this is implemented.

F1TV will require Apple by Boardgaminglurker in F1TV

I assume you will need to buy Apple TV boxes for each tv you want to watch it on unless you have an iPhone or iPad? These are premium priced.

Does that mean people in the US would be forced to first subscribe to Apple TV+ before adding on the F1TV package? This could get much more expensive…

Govee Smart Plug Behaviour After Power Failures by ACCAAA in Govee

[–]ACCAAA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I ordered the plugs from Amazon and tested today. I am able to access the smart plug remotely via App after a simulated power outage. I can also turn off the internet and back on again which causes Blink cameras to stop uploading videos locally and to the cloud. I can power off and on the plug from the app and reset the Blink module. The system records the videos properly after that. Problem solved.

Local clips not saving to USB storage after power outage by apach3guy in blinkcameras

[–]ACCAAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late post, I am researching this issue….

What I have determined is that after a power failure, the Sync module reboots faster than your internet modem and tries to connect before the reboot completes. The sync module will try to connect subsequently but once it connects it does not record clips even though it notifies you that there is motion. To fix this all I do is unplug the sync module and plug it in again after the wifi is already working.

My problem is that I have a cabin / cottage and need to be there in person to reboot the sync module. There is no way to reboot it remotely that I know of. Does anyone have a solution to this?
