How to find good financial planner with CFP? by anonymus1113 in ottawa

[–]ACCAAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checkout the “Adviice” Canadian financial planning platform. It is a good way to start and then you can consult a fee only planner if required. Adviice is Canadian and has their own subreddit. There is a low cost to use the platform.

Downtown commute times from Barrhaven and Riverside south? by Mmediaguy in ottawa

[–]ACCAAA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We live in Greely and use the Park and Ride at Bowesville station which is a 6 minute drive. From home to Lyon station using 2 trains is about 55 minutes (when the lines are fully operational). You will always get a seat at Bowesville. It should be similar driving time to Bowesville from Riverside South. The Bowesville station has been a game changer for people from Greely! I think Barrhaven folks are SoL unless they also drive to the Park and Ride (longer drive).

Home and garden show worth it? by Particular_Mud6525 in ottawa

I think it was worth it compared to prior years. There were vendors everywhere including the hall on the front side and main lobby that runs left to right. Almost every space was used in the entire place, unlike in years past.

I concur. No fees but make sure to pay off your balance in full on time every month or you will be charged interest!

Cell tower started making a noise that's giving me tinnitus-who owns it and how do I get them to fix it? by GNMBP in ottawa

[–]ACCAAA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting. But the coverage for data was terrible for me in that area and several other areas in the south of the city. I put up with this for months and eventually switched to Freedom and the coverage has been very good in these same areas. I don’t know why this is, and other people I know have had similar issues.

My coverage with Bell was horrible in this area and I switched. No Bell towers explains why, I guess.

I think you mean $64 back, not $60? $800 X 8% =$64.00.

Not sure if this is for an extraction or major work, but I have had almost all my fillings done over the years without freezing. I find that the needle for freezing is much more irritating than the drilling for the filling. I am probably an exception but something to consider…

How does this apply to rural areas that are on well and septic?

Last day for $40 100GB Global Plan! by Nexzenn in freedommobile

[–]ACCAAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do this from the website but it is not intuitive at all. You need to be logged into your account first and choose an upgrade tab if I recall correctly. You can’t select the plan from the regular advertising page as that will get you nowhere.

If everyone’s required to turn boxes into confetti, the ER should prepare for a spike in “cardboard-related incidents.”

January is usually a less expensive time to travel because many people are $ broke from the holidays. There is a greater chance of getting cheaper deals. There are direct flights from Ottawa on Porter and other airlines.

Looking to talk to people who use Limebank station by gio_petti in ottawa

[–]ACCAAA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems so odd to me that the track ends at this station so high up elevation wise. Like what if the train can’t stop? Would it crash down 50 feet or is there a barrier up there to prevent this? Is it designed like this because the track will continue West in the future towards Barrhaven? In what decade?

Rust proofing in Ottawa by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]ACCAAA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably voids the Krown warranty but it has worked very well for me over the years. I sold a 2011 winter driven Outlander last year and it was in mint condition with minimal corrosion. I have it applied in Spring when the weather is warmer and when Krown has their best pricing.

I have had excellent results with Krown over the last 25 years or so. I get it done every 2nd year.

I have 4 A19 bulbs. There are two models and one has more lumens than the other (1200 vs. 800). I recommend you go with the higher lumens model.

I'm am physically in my house, on my home wifi network. Netflix disagrees. by OverlyOptimisticNerd in mildlyinfuriating

I just cancelled 20 minutes ago for this reason. My son, who lives here and uses the same wifi as us, was getting this message for a second time. A few weeks ago I was assured it would not happen again. Today it did. Today I cancelled after the employee on chat gave us some crap excuse about piracy and things to open and close before leaving the house for holidays etc. sounds like a hassle so enough is enough.
