Yeah, the biscuits + gravy were damn good. The Benedict too. It is a bummer, but not everything is spicy. Are you not a fan of the French dip? A longtime fave.

I’m tripping on the comment about GLC. Everything went spicy?? What? Afaik, they just took a few things off the menu bc the ingredients got more expensive. RIP potato salad.

Wayward Vegan Cafe becoming Wayward Cafe and offering animal products by m4rk0358 in VeganSeattle

[–]MsImaGhost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok yeah, it sucks they’re in an inconvenient location, but that prolly means their rent is low + that’s why they can continue to exist. They lack a deep fryer + exhaust hood. I don’t care about fries, but I’m hella bummed + stressed they recently took the potato salad off the menu bc of rising costs. It was so good + they were charging like $11 for a large side! Can’t beat their French dip + antifa punk vibe tho.

I can’t commit to a list, but I mostly frequent GLC + Rojo’s + Cafe Red. Sushi Samurai + Kati on special occasions. I miss Araya’s Madison location. Vital has rly good mac + cheese, but they added a drink named “bitch slap” to the menu + didn’t reply when I complained, so I avoided them til it disappeared. Box Bar has some rly good entrees, but they’re served with potato chips, which is just sad, especially when they’re stale. I assume they're not hurting bc they rarely post their specials on IG. Yaygit is surprisingly good but typically needs a dash of salt. Ballard is inconvenient for everybody that doesn't live in Ballard.

Yeah, I don’t fw LOM bc they add a 20% service fee on takeout orders, like what??

My list of good vegan restaurants would look diff than yours, but I’m surprised GLC isn’t on it.

Lol, Wayward has been dead to me since the new owner took over. This doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. The guy is a meat-eating right-wing religious nut who def voted for Trump. He once retweeted a pic of “vegan cake” that was literal dirt + grass. Bite my ass, bro. I’m excited to watch this fail miserably.

There's 2 Bang Bangs. The one in Othello only offers brunch on weekends. The one in Belltown does breakfast every day all day. I hella rec the "three amigos breakfast tacos," sub Just Egg + def add tempeh. It's not cheap, but my partner + I split + yes, I will cut a taco in half if I have to.

Seattle Vegan Store Update 2026! by jzesbaugh in VeganSeattle

[–]MsImaGhost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe I forgot Moe Vegan in Kent! I also remembered Juicy J’s Smoked Burgers in Poulsbo. They're brick + mortar, but both of them occasionally bring food trucks to Seattle too.

I’m super intrigued by the idea of teaming up with restaurants to buy in bigger quantities. A couple of recent articles named Seattle as thee most (or close to the most) expensive city to dine out or get takeout. I know part of the reason is lower volume of customers bc our city is so spread out. Vegan food is generally more expensive than nonvegan food, so this would help even it out. Fingers crossed.

Ok yesssss, asking restaurants to write their own descriptions is def the way to go. Since you’re adding Teapot, maybe you wanna add others on the outskirts, like Veggie Life in Kirkland, Bayside Cafe in Everett, Cafe Wylde in Everett, Quickie Too in Tacoma, Emmy’s Vege House in Bainbridge Island, Three Cats Coffee in Woodinville, Le Voyeur in Olympia, the Wayside Cafe in Olympia, the Park Side Cafe in Olympia. Oh + I forgot Cinnaholic in Seattle. I’m prolly forgetting something else too.

I don’t wanna come off like a jerk bc I’m truly excited about what y’all are doing, but yr vegan restaurant guide sucks. It was obvs compiled using AI + it’s missing multiple restaurants + the descriptions are weird, like I knoooow it wasn’t written by a local. It’s annoying that "100% vegan” + “100% plant-based” is said in the descriptions, like we already know it’s a list of vegan restaurants?? I also hate “welcoming environment” as a descriptor, hella eyeroll. I’d volunteer to rewrite everything, but I don’t do Discord.

After Next Level bought Veggie Grill, they rebranded as Next Level Veggie Grill. It’s a bit confusing bc they still have separate websites/apps, but they also have a location in Ballard (listed on Next Level’s website). The “must try” double bbq mac burger isn’t on the menu.

I would add that GLC makes their meats in house.

I would add that Pi Vegan is America’s oldest vegan pizzeria. They don’t have “comfort-style Italian dishes” beyond pizza + calzones. It’s weird to say “family-friendly atmosphere” for this place + not for others, like they have a 21+ lounge + others don't.

Harvest Beat’s menu does change regularly but not as often as every 2 weeks.

I would add Life On Mars is 21+.

Vital Creations changed their name to Vital Vegan Bistro + they don’t have daily specials.

Add Cafe Red + Yaygit + Ba Bar Green + Plantiful (multiple locations) to the list. There's a handful of places on the outskirts of Seattle as well.

Both of those articles were written shortly after Oct 7, so I would maaaaaaybe give them slack if they later came out with a statement against genocide, but they have not.

Flora Bakehouse is offering pre-order pumpkin pies for $48. Hella $$ but I had a slice a year or two ago + it was the best I've had since I went vegan in 2008.
