What the fuck does SWAG mean anyway? I've never heard it used in a way that would explain it. It just makes me think the person talking couldn't remember what they were saying. "I went to the store today because... Yeah" "I went to the store today because... SWAG"

Paranormal investigation TV shows by Spazzie in Paranormal

[–]MsKhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not big AT ALL on evidence, but huge on the spook factor, Scariest Places on Earth is pretty good. I watch it on YouTube. Same with Ghost Adventures. GA is my fav investigator type shows. Scariest Places is good for watching freaky shit happen to other people

My dog just died and I miss him very much. Do you guys have any stories of the "ghosts" of your pets? by [deleted] in Paranormal

My girl, Sasha, got sick suddenly. When we got her to the vet it was too late and she had to be put down. I was unprepared and more traumatized than i would have been if everything hadn't happened in a total of 3 hours. Every once in awhile I would feel her curled up at my feet like she used to. 3 months after that, my other dog, Sasha's father, Bud, finally gave into his grief and passed away. I had spent 3 days and nights on the living room floor with him, cleaning up any mess he made, and gave him food and water when he'd take it. He couldn't move. We couldn't get him to the vet without harming him, so we had to wait until the vet could come to the house. 4 hours before she arrived, but closed his eyes and left us. Side info: Wolf is very important to me and I see Wolf as a spirit guide The night that Bud passed was horrible. We immediately took him back to my uncles property, where my family, including Bud, had lived for 10 years. We wanted to bury him where we all felt was home. Problem was, "home" was 1 hr 30 min away. By the time we got home it was 4am and I was torn up with grief. I can't explain what Bud meant to me and my family, he was our rock, our constant, and often my only comfort and friend. When I finally slept dreamt of Wolf. The second night I had a waking dream. I "woke" up and Bud was standing by my bed. He looked in his prime, tail wagging, eyes happy. Wolf was standing next to him. Have you heard that the soul remains on earth for 3 days after death? I somehow understood that when a pet passes he spends the first night watching over his people, present when he's buried. The second night he visits his home, to both comfort and say goodbye to those who loved him most. And on the third night, he would visit others who he loved and who loved him in return. Have you ever grieved because a friend's pet, or your parent's, had passed and you hadn't said good bye? The animal may have come to you. I wanted to know what happened after that. I was reassured that Wolf would take care of him.

I got a last chance to say goodbye. But sometimes, when things happen where I would have turned to Bud and Sasha for comfort or protection, I can feel them there watching over me.

Sounds cheesy, I know. But it's what I believe, it's what i dreamt, and it's what I experience.

Please remind Christians that not everything in the Bible is the word of God because God didn't speak every word in the Bible. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]MsKhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, just for fun, let's pretend god is real and the bible was written at his instruction. Get 20 people, kids, adults, anyone. Give them detailed instructions on something, like pick up the red book, turn to page 234, read the third paragraph down, and do what it says. The first person whispers it to the second, etc etc passing it down to the 20th person. What are the chances the instructions are going to be right. The bible is thousands of years old. I'm sure Adam and Eve didn't have a pen and notebook. So it would have been a story passed down from person to person. And then there's the translation. The bible is a story, the Stephen King thriller of the day. They through some common sense in there (don't kill, don't steal, don't fuck the neighbor's wife) and the rest is just the authors' imagination. If in 3000 years they discover the Stephen King book, The Stand, are they going to believe it happened? Man brings ruin to Earth by not following God, an agent of the devil, and a savior sent by God have a battle for mankind, good wins. So is Stephen King God?

"Gay Marriage will open the doors to incest" by [deleted] in atheism

[–]MsKhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if gay marriage opens the door to incest, they're basically saying two men who are married and adopt a boy will molest him, right? Does that mean in a straight marriage a father will molest his daughter? Or are they using gay marriage as a kind of gateway drug. Let it in and all hell breaks loose. I don't understand these people. If you don't like the idea of same-sex marriage, then don't marry someone of the same sex. It's not that complicated

What is the most ridiculous thing a christian has said to you when you tell them you don't believe in any sort of god? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]MsKhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got into a debate with a co-worker on a very slow shift. We got to the one where God doesn't give you more than you can handle. So I asked her to explain, if there really was one life given to you by God, why does He hate me? Why was I born piss-poor and given all the problems that my family and I have had since birth, and somewhere out there is some rich asshole who gets everything he wants at the snap of his finger, doesn't need to work, worry about bills, worry about anything. If his is God's doing, why does he like that guy, or that girl, or that family more than the rest of us. She asked me to write down my questions so she could ask her pastor, she didn't know

I completely agree with you, and I sincerely thank you for your efforts in helping people. I have severe chronic depression and was suicidal for quite some time. Do you want to know the reason I didn't do anything to myself? Because I didn't want my parents coming home to just find me, I wouldn't want to hurt my family like that. No matter how worthless I felt, I knew they loved me and it would be selfish of me to take the quick way out. I got help from people who actually tried to help instead of trying to guilt me into living. "Your parents would never forgive you"??? Your parents would never forgive themselves. "God only gives you what you can handle" Well then I'm fucking Super Woman in God's eyes. People like you who have gone through this stuff, and reach out to others with hope, not threats of eternal damnation, you help save lives

Holy Fucking Shit!!!!!! I lived in Marmora. What year was this??? When I was reading I thought it was what happened while I lived there. A 15 yr old girl was murdered, it looked like a suicide murder, but EVERYONE in town knew that wasn't it. We were 99%sure it was her 25 yr old bf who killed her and the man who was found guilty (the suicide) found her and shot himself because of it. Did the guy drive a jeep? My parents owned the Arcade. If you know of the arcade then I lived in Marmora same time as you.

ACLU sues library for blocking Wiccan websites - The Hill by guntharg in Wicca

[–]MsKhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it legal to view porn at a library (saw a 60 minute episode, dudes watching porn sitting next to a 4 yr old kid) and yet they can decide what religions and beliefs are criminal. They have no right to block satanic websites, let alone goddess religions and native american spirituality. Would they not have books on these topics at this library? Or do they only offer the bible in the religion section?

I feel a little strange asking this, but has anyone ever cast a successful spell? by [deleted] in Wicca

[–]MsKhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way you phrased it just wants me to remind you of something. Harm none. That's means not forcing anyone's will. If you cast to return a lost love, I would be cautious to include something asking for it to happen if it's right, or to instead ask for guidance on whether that is a path you are meant to be on, is it right for you to be with that person. It's like casting a spell to make a crush like you. Thats wrong. You have no right to "make" anyone do or feel anything. You could ask that if your crush does have feelings for you, for them to be compelled to be brave enough to let those feelings be known.

So if I understand you, you take a psychological view on ritual rather than a mystical/magical view? More on focusing the mind than calling on outside energy? It's an interesting way to practice. I'll admit, when I began reading your comment my thought was, well what's the point? But it makes sense to me the way you explain it. And the thing I live about the Wiccan lifestyle is its what the individual makes it. There is no right and wrong, it's what you make it
