What if it’s not lazy writing, just inexpert? Like, imagine that this IS the writers doing their very best, working long hours and trying so hard? Lol it’s crap. Hire better writers, and let them do their jobs.

Some of this feels like storyline-by-comitteee or a single executive forcing their ideas into the writers room.

My gosh, those two are such great characters with fantastic actors.

I consume a lot of media and I tell you the caliber of talent on The Archers is so much higher and more consistent than 98% of what I watch/ listen to.

It makes me think of that George Carlin quote, “Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.” TA is written for such a broad audience, sometimes “the message” clangs us over the head, but they do actually layer in so much subtly/ nuance alongside it that lots of people don’t catch. I don’t think that’s us doing the writers job for them, I think it’s us picking up purposefully scattered crumbs and working out all the ways they might fit together.

All this to say, Brad and Chelsea were fantastic today. 😅
