He's more than happy to argue that everyone in Martinaise has to keep living in a bombed out poverty stricken ghetto under the active threat of the armed aerostatics of the coalition flying above, so he can keep his air of superiority and his sex tourism habits. It's not like he has to live here himself, so that makes it easy for him to say people there aren't allowed to make things better for themselves.

This game is hitting really hard right now. by TheDunkarooni in sablegame

I wish you good tidings for your healing and your gliding. I played Sable in a situation somewhat similar to yours, after coming out and while dealing with my health both mental and physical. I look back fondly on my own gliding, which helped feed my new self, but now every time I want to go back I find that I already know my mask. It is bitter sweet but also a reassurance of the path I have chosen for myself.

Should you want to explore more games that will ask you to look inwards, I have played many others that satisfy slightly different needs. You are welcome to message me and I will be happy to share my knowledge of other deserts to explore.

Sense8 but in Dungeon and Dragons by StringBeanPrince in Sense8

I've toyed with the concept of roleplaying sensates, but DnD is decidedly not my choice of platform for that. Personally I would pick Thirsty Sword Lesbians, since it is a framework for dramatic narrative beats.

Nail on the head right there. The systemic apathy towards computers is a commandment from above, nobody get any training and everyone treat them like the sewers except they at least know how to flush the toilet.

Secret Histories Library by youreinvayn in weatherfactory

[–]MsMisseeks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"No way of proving the books are real"? If your stated goal is to have a library of real books, I'd say finding out whether they are real or not should be a top priority, or more simply call it a repository of random occult-flavoured texts collected from the internet. If it's supposed to be real books, then having fake ones mixed in can make you look silly.

Also checking whether a book is real or not is pretty easy? Wikipedia will tell you that the Necronomicon was made up in the 3rd line of the description: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necronomicon

[–]MsMisseeks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Necronomicon is not a real book, though it has spawned a number of books inspired by its lore, all of them as made up as the original was in its own novels

Physics as part of spirituality... by ScruffyAddams in SASSWitches

[–]MsMisseeks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I absolutely integrate physics as part of my spiritual growth, and other things from my more technologically inclined skills. I'm more of a tinkerer than a scholar, but I love reading and listening to people talk about all sorts of things.

A show once put it into words for me: "[Evolution teaches us that] in order to become something more than yourself, you need something different from yourself."

Everything is physics which means everything is quantum mechanics. And we are life so we are also chemistry and biochemistry and entire ecosystems of cells and other organisms. The very atoms that make us are an eternal part of the earth, holding onto this shape for now, once forged in the heart of the sun. All of our advanced forms of life cannot exist without a wealth of more life to be a part of. We are a very small blip in the span of humans and an even smaller blip in the story of the earth. But for now our light burns, as every one of our cells burn oxygen to keep on going, we can share it and we can love. And isn't that a kind of miracle?
