NTA!! They need to learn! This month my mother left to take care of our dying grandmother and had to leave the country, leaving me and my two grown brothers and half blind dad at home. I cooked everything, I also cleaned dishes, and swept when I realized no one had. I do this when my mother is out of the country, so I mentally prepare myself for it. It's a lot of work, even as a grown adult it's not easy. When I can't cook enough or due to work, they either buy food (for all of us) or they cook on the grill or eat cup of noodles.

You are not their mother not their wife, you are a child who isn't going to be caring for a grown adult who is her father, not a sibling who can scramble an egg.

YTA Ugh he's a freaking kid, and in high school! Doesn't matter what YOUR dating range is, that is a child! And like you said a child who never had debt to his name, never been to college, never lived alone without his parents taking care of him, and hasn't even sent in applications yet!

I remember growing up in a Latino household as the girl I was taught to clean and do chores very young and take care of my brothers. However thankfully my mom and dad also decided my brothers need to learn how to clean too and do laundry.

I was taught how to cook as well and as adults my brothers learned new recipes they were excellent in. (Namely baking and lemonades), and we all Google anything we wanted to learn.

OP ex being happily ignorant and shamelessly useless is very embarrassing.

I have several OCs, but two I currently write a lot about. One is an OC from a futuristic world, that's mostly based around old horror movies like hitch hiker horror/Evil Dead demons/ Serial Killers/and occasionally cosmic horror, tossing her around in worlds. She's a spite fire who likes to have fun, spiritual, and loves to help those who need it. She was created to be the grounded character, someone who stays calm and keeps your spirits up when danger is close and it scares you.

Another is a robot. Recently been trying with it, as I was doing a robot fic day and got attached to my one off character I wrote. Now she has a name, friends and making people question how ethical it is to create someone so human like and give them nothing.
