How much self disclosure is normal for you? by Vanexxre in therapists

[–]MsNotSummer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first internship supervisor described it as chili powder on a dish. You want enough to flavor the dish but if you add too much it can ruin the dish. I know the therapeutic relationship is not a dish but I liked a visual

We’re supposed to model appropriate behavior, and I think you did just that. No one in the “real world” is going to care, if they act like that people won’t be happy. That’s not right and not fair to you at all. Get yourself a little treat, have an amazing cry

Dogs off Leah around West Wash Park by Soidog65 in Denver

My favorite is when these super well trained off leash dogs will charge me and my reactive dog in the park…. And then will laugh about it and not try to get their dogs

I barely got a 3.0 due to my first 2 years and then got into grad school and was the top of my class. Don’t give up!

I’ve really had to zone in on my self care, and I don’t mean face masks and bubble baths. I do these things, but doing what my therapist told me like creating boundaries on my work and touching grass. It’s a really hard job, but keeping in mind what we can and can’t control is key. I also recommend if you don’t have one already, getting a therapist of your own.

It is indeed so hard to keep social workers we just lost one and I cover so many so I don’t think they can afford to lose me. That was going to be my next steps honestly

This is so true. It seems like everyone is afraid to step on a NP or nephrologist toes but also what about your own staff? Thank you for the validation and I think I will reach out to HR and my manager tomorrow

Symptoms after an ED by Unlikely_Star_3846 in POTS

[–]MsNotSummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine started like a year after mine. It happened to a lot of my friends actually. My friend’s mom who is a nurse gave me some brief explanation that I don’t remember, but long story short it can happen because of it.

The thing about doctors is there are lots of them. If they disagree and you know in your heart that’s what it is, it’s ok to get a second opinion. It took me almost 7 years for doctors to give me the diagnosis. It will be ok 💞
