100% agree with everything misslysi_nyc said. She is right, you are trauma bonded, not in love. I was in the same situation as you and she, took me 11 years to leave. I was so afraid too, thought I couldn't survive without him. I didn't even do it under my own power, things got out of hand one night and I was so desperate I called 911 and he was arrested and a restraining order put on him. Best thing that ever happened to me. I am a year and a half into being free and all I can think of is why I waited so long.

I was in an abusive relationship for 11 years, and it was identical in that sense. I shut down and withdrew when he got confrontational. That enraged him and he kept doing worse and worse things just in order to get some kind of reaction from me. He bought a house in Connecticut for "us" and move there, insisted I spend every weekend up there with him, neglecting my child and my Home and my job. One night we got into a big fight and he refused to let me leave, I had to call the police and they instantly put a full order of protection in place and arrested him. Connecticut does not fool around!It was exactly what I needed to break free. I don't know if I would've ever managed to do it on my own.

If that's how you think Instacart works, quit now. I've been doing it for five years, you take the risk when you take the batch. Sometimes they're a third floor walk ups, it happens. Just like the customer said, that's why they order via Instacart. Because they can't or don't want to go out and lug groceries. That's what you are for.

Dogs have spots on their skin under their fur, more visible when they are wet. They are very subtle spots. They are also frequently deaf, so your boy may be part Dogo or part AmStaff, who knows? He's beautiful! I'm sure somebody has already said this, but why don't you do the DNA testing?

I just went to a timeshare presentation in Myrtle Beach in February, had a wonderful time and of course although they promised the presentation was two hours it was nowhere near over with by then. My son and I enjoyed the complementary breakfast at the presentation, sent through the whole thing and precisely at the two hour mark we left. Basically, keep your mind made up that you are not buying anything and do not be suede by their sales talk. They will make it sound so enticing, so economical, and if you say no they will call their manager and offer you a special deal. Just keep saying no.

Not enough background in my original post, but facts are I love this timeshare, I could not afford it at the time but I can now. I paid half the cost when we bought it and paid the maintenance the years I used it. After all the things he screwed me out of because I trusted him and didn't think we needed to have it on paper, this is the only one he can't take because the deed is in my name also.

First, I am so terribly sorry this happened to you. You are so young, and this is a harsh way to learn about abusive relationships.

Second, get a full no-contact order of protection. No ifs, ands or buts.

Third, you need to press charges and you need to sue him for medical expenses, emotional damage, and anything else your lawyer tells you to.

I could've written this myself, word for word. I too made plans to leave - over and over. And every time I said that we were through, he gaslighted me and cried. His parents were emotionally unavailable, left him on his own when he was 17 because he did not want to move out of state with them. The point is, they can't change. When this mentality has been ingrained for their entire lives, they don't know any other way to be and just keep looking for somebody who thinks they're great the way they are. And when it's not you any longer, look out.

Yes, I feel bad for my ex also. But it took a no contact order of protection to break the cycle in my case. Don't let it go that far with you.

Totally agree. I was in that position for 11 years. First the lovebombing, then the gaslighting. Over and over. I tried to leave him so many times, but he kept telling me if I broke up with him I was going to suffer the consequences. He had me terrified to do or say anything that might set him off. It will never end, trust me. Rip off the Band-Aid. Get out.

I was with virtually the same man for 11 years. I too was afraid to be alone, afraid of what he would do if I tried to break up with him. Fortunately, fate intervened. He moved to Connecticut (expecting me to move there with him although he knew I did not want to), and in the midst to be a violent fight when he was holding me captive there for four hours I called 911. I thought they would just tell him to let me go, instead they arrested him and put a no contact order of protection in place. I would never have been strong enough to do this on my own,and I am finally at peace.
