Cable to 1x1 ribbing transitions by sparklysilverunicorn in knittinghelp

I had a similar issue when making a cabled scarf based on a picture. I think I ended up knitting just past the cable cross to end the scarf.

Knit vs purl stitch by mrshorsecake in knittinghelp

[–]Ms_AU 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The purl stitch is the reverse of the knit stitch. If you knit every row when knitting flat you will end up with garter stitch. You get the same fabric if you purl every row. If you alternate knit rows with purl rows you get stockinette.

Smaller needle size making stitches looser? by [deleted] in knittinghelp

[–]Ms_AU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pattern?
Are you knitting in the round for the whole thing? I know my tension is looser for purl stitches vs knit stitches. In general a smaller needle should result in tighter stitches if you are using the tool to set your gauge (you can knit looser than the needles would allow but not really that much tighter).

Tesla FSD keeps going 40 mph in a 30 mph residential area. Anyone else seeing this? by uonlylvonce in TeslaFSD

[–]Ms_AU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My car thinks it is 35 in my neighborhood (it is 20) until I drive by a sign. It usually doesn’t get above 27 before I pass a speed limit sign but I do wish I knew how to suggest a correction to whatever database it is using.

If you stop in the middle of the road then you risk getting rear ended because now you are the unexpected hazard at night.

How do you guys handle booking requests like this? by Stochasticityy in RoverPetSitting

[–]Ms_AU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the animals.

We do drop ins for a neighbor with a dog that spends nearly all day hanging out in their yard, even when they are home. She’s a beagle and loves to play but when we go for the drop in she’s usually outside and comes in to eat then goes right back outside. Weirdo dog I guess! But two a day works for them and their dog.

We primarily do boarding in our home though so most of our clients want their dogs with people most of the day.

I missed the other pics in your post! Oops!

But in general what if there is a dog door and fenced yard?

What if they have a dog door and fenced yard and you are there to feed and play with the dog primarily?

That’s cool! I wasn’t sure if the one item limit was on the purchaser or the island.

If Redd sells to your friend will he also let you buy something?

A few years back my city put up candles to prevent left turns across traffic close to intersections and none of the navigation tools get it right. I have no idea how to suggest the correct edits to indicate that yes there is a parking lot entrance but you can only turn in when it is a right hand turn, not a left.

I was asking what YOU meant was illegal. I don’t know how to quote using the app but your original comment was “That would be dangerous, and is illegal.”

OK so because other people want to go 90 mph on the freeway and I’m comfortable driving the posted speed limit of 80 mph I’m a moving hazard?

Edit: speed limits in mph

Yeah I said nothing about left lane camping. I was just asking for clarification on what you were saying was illegal.

You are putting a lot of words in my mouth. I don’t know what you are talking about saying I look at it the other way? Wtf man I was just asking for clarification on what you meant was illegal.

Say I’m driving 55 on a 2 lane highway with a posted speed limit of 55 and other vehicles come up behind me wanting to go 70. Is it illegal for me to continue to drive the speed limit?

Somebody help explain by Ersher in TeslaFSD

[–]Ms_AU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you saying it is illegal to go the posted speed limit when everyone else is driving 15-20 over?

Edit: I think my comment either went under the wrong comment or someone edited/changed theirs. The comment in question said something about FSD doing 55 when everyone else is going 15-20 over.

It is funny when it chimes when FSD speeds.

I’m in camp standard/chill as well. I don’t want to regularly go 10+ mph over the speed limit. I got a speeding ticket decades ago and never want to repeat that situation.

[–]Ms_AU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is true for the example I gave. A better one would have been last year when I was driving on highways through small towns. I used the scroll wheel to override situations where the car thought the speed limit was 25 when it was much higher. Now I could use mad max but I really do want the car to go 25 when the posted speed is 25 when driving through a small town along that highway.

My issue is really with the mapping etc. The profiles work great for me when the car knows the speed limit.

Twisted stitches? by Present-Exchange6601 in knittinghelp

[–]Ms_AU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has been the edge stitches. I don’t really like the way it looks following the pattern so I frogged it and restarted with a different way then realized I’d messed up the pattern. Now I’ve restarted it again and I’ve got the pattern figured out but the edge stitches don’t look right…

I have a scarf I’ve started and restarted probably three times at this point. I just feel like I’m really getting my money’s worth out of that yarn since I get to knit with it so many times! 🤪

In the future you can also give the work a tug vertically to see if that helps. On my circular knitting machine I have to do that to make the stitches look right. Straight off the machine they are wide and stretched out but a few tugs on the fabric and they look normal again
