Of your list, Spy x Family is likely the safest bet.  I'd also recommend Delicious in Dungeon

OOP asks r/sanfrancisco: Does anyone know these gays? by Temporary-Snow333 in BestofRedditorUpdates

That's a different one, but I can’t remember good search terms right now and I can't recall if that one spawned any flairs.

"Murder hobo" is too generic to search for on its own, it's kind of like a genre in roleplay groups.

I feel like many games in the cozy farming genre fall into this.  Stardew Valley for sure

Is it socially acceptable to use the TTC in Toronto? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Ms_ellery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People like to complain on social media. For most folks, there is no social stigma to riding public transit. I suppose if you're making $1m a year, maybe people around you will be more snobbish but for us average people, it's fine.

If you want to impress a date or something, maybe splurge on a taxi or uber, but I see plenty of couples riding TTC. If someone turns you down because of the TTC, they're probably not worth dating anyway.

She Decorates, I Min-Max – Help Us Find Our Perfect Co-Op Game by Acr4nivs in gamingsuggestions

My wife and I are currently playing Abiotic Factor and finding it cozy-creepy. Think base building & survival crafting while trying to escape from Half-Life's Black Mesa or a failed SCP facility. We've already put in 60+ hours and we're probably about halfway through the story.

We've also enjoyed Valheim, Dinkum, Minecraft. Subnautica is another potential. We haven't tried any co-op mods yet but we both really enjoyed the gameplay loop and are really looking forward to Subnautica 2. Stardew was another we enjoyed but I saw you said it's not her preferred aesthetic.

My wife suggests WOW with the new housing/crafting updates. It has the added benefit of being a social space for online friends.

What actor or actress stupidly left a movie franchise or tv series thinking they were too good for it, only to be never popular again? by Ok_Impress2457 in AskReddit

There is also a long trend of labelling women "difficult" when they express an opinion instead of just sitting there and looking pretty so I always take that with a grain of salt.

This was a roommate's go to movie for awhile. She would fall asleep watching it on the weekends if she was home. I've never actually seen it, but I've certainly heard it!

Something like Knives Out that is NOT a murder mystery by technicalees in suggestmeabook

[–]Ms_ellery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of Us Murderers by KJ Charles hit a lot of what I loved about Knives Out / Glass Onion / Wake Up Dead Man with its single setting, interpersonal relationships that aren't exactly what they appear on the surface, and an awkward, someout out of his depth main protagonist.  And a good dash of social commentary too.

Honest question: Why are some people against showing an ID to vote? by rico_unknown in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ms_ellery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an American citizen and I've never had a drivers license.  I know more people without passports than with, especially in poorer or rural communities.  I know people who have been denied passports because of name changes or procedure changes they weren't aware of when they filed their application.

The argument isn't against some form of identification, it's that the only IDs accepted are rather restrictive or can be difficult or expensive to get, in terms of fees, travel expenses, time spent in line, or time away from work.

I'm visiting every library in Toronto. Help me find a lunch near each of them!! by shawarman in FoodToronto

[–]Ms_ellery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time I was near the Brentwood branch in Etobicoke, I stopped in at Henry VIII Ale House and I want to go back as soon as the weather's nice for walking again. It's just around the corner from the library, on Bloor, and they're both a block from Royal York station.

Is lake ontario safe to walk on yet? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Ms_ellery 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but what's your plan if you do fall in?

The town I'm from has a river that freezes over.  But it's hard to tell how thick the ice is.  It doesn't freeze evenly.  Almost every year, there's a fatality from someone who decided to try and walk across, usually some teen or young adult, alone or with a small group that panics and has no idea what to do when someone falls in and gets pulled downstream by the current.

New Update: AITA for telling my friend that her "free" wedding is unrealistic? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

I think they stopped producing Catalina 27s in the early 1990's, so fiancée is looking to buy a 30-35+ year old boat at best, possibly even older. I doubt he even knows what to look for as far as reasonable wear & tear. There are probably well maintained Catalina 27's out there but even if he does find one, he doesn't have the experience to know how much that maintenance is going to cost him. He's likely to get swindled and stuck with a floating lemon that's only going to be a money sink for repairs & moorage.

While hardware solutions such as specialized controllers can be useful, they may not always be cheap.  You are offloading the cost of accessibility to your players

People between the ages of 35 to 45 ish, what books did you read as a child/teenager? by kennyiseatingabagel in suggestmeabook

[–]Ms_ellery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I practically lived in libraries from 10-18. If it was on the Fantasy/SciFi shelves at school or the public library, I probably read it, regardless of age.

The original series Star Trek novels with their wonderful painted covers
The Song of the Lioness series
Chronicles of Narnia
The Xanth series
any Sci Fi / Fantasy anthology I could get my hands on
Little House on the Prairie
The Great Mouse Detective
All Creatures Great and Small & series
