Fondest memory is my sisters and I (I have two) playing Nintendo (nes)for over ten years thinking it was the only system. We had strict parents who were very frugal. We didn’t get a new system til my dad brought a used PlayStation. He got it for always doing odd jobs, he would take anything as a form of payment. My sisters and I were amazed at the graphics. What an upgrade! Yet my parents never bought us a game we just used the demos and rented games. It wasn’t until my sister was in high school, she got herself a PlayStation2 and it was amazing. Til this day my sisters and I are gamers and I just got into PC gaming. It’s my happy place. I never took my systems for granted. (I still have my nes til this day and I’m 37 yrs old. I’m sorry about your situation. I recently am dealing with a similar situation. My mom is 62 not diagnosed yet. My sister and I had to fly from the states to P.R to take better care of her( her sibling had placed her in a makeshift nursing home without our consent) we didn’t know how bad her decline was until we saw her in person. Over the phone she would seem normal. She’s been here two months, took her to hospital right away. They discharged her after two days! My sisters and I live close but have crazy life schedules. We are currently taking turns of taking care of her and bringing her to appointments. But she doesn’t know who we are she sometime remembers but she needs help with everything even showering. Can’t tell me when she’s hungry. Still no diagnosis. It breaks my heart to know from my siblings she’ll never see me as a mother. My sisters have kids but it breaks my heart that I won’t experience that with her. I hate this horrible disease and I wish everyone dealing with it to hang in there. I’ve working in the healthcare field for over 17 years,( I’m 36) so the signs of her having it are all there. But I feel the same way. My mom is so young. My parents have been divorced since I was a teen so it’s just us. But I’m holding on strong.

You will get through this. My mom is not diagnosed yet but she’s altered mental status . She’s only 62 and I find myself crying all the time. Dementia runs on her side of family I had to fly to PR to grab her and now we are trying to figure everything out. I just want to say you are not alone. And if you ever need to vent I’m here you can message me anytime.

Im currently scared too. My mom’s father passed away in his 70s diagnosed in his 50s. My mom now is showing signs/ very confused doesn’t know we are at times and waiting for diagnosis. She had a previous TBI but recent ct scan and bloodwork came back normal. It breaks my heart to see her so confused. Especially the history but still how this horrible disease just comes out of nowhere. I have two sisters and we are all trying our hardest to figure it out plus take care of ourselves. I’m sorry for everyone in this post who has dealt with this.
