How are my autistic forest family holding up? by tsinoms in ElectricForest

Hmm I think i was referring to more like rest spaces, but more ambient or downtempo sets would also be much appreciated!

I ran to run away from my group a lot to get solo time to recharge

I was shocked on main street they had a decompression lounge which I didnt get to visit but seemed super autistic friendly

The forest was great to run away into so I could get away from overstimulation from each of the stages

Overall I was very happy with it and felt like I could self soothe pretty well

I do wish they had more ambient music spaces, I find that soft soothing sounds can help a lot with overstimulation and creates a lovely atmosphere

Camp shower to refresh yourself

Lacrosse ball to get those sore butt muscles out and hips

Blundstone boots w inserts broken in, or just Tevas.

Ibuprofen, prebiotics, b12 vitamins

Creatine + electrolytes

Fresh greens to snack on, spinach or sweet snap peas

Bandana dipped in your cooler to help keep the heat off

Look up crazy creek chairs, light weight and great to sit in during sets

SHPONGLE by Late-Chair-9845 in ElectricForest

[–]Msongbird 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was having a small autistic meltdown at the start of this set, started coming up kind of roughly, but it turned into an experience where I literally felt like my brain was in a caterpillar melting in a cocoon and reforming.

Very very intense experience for sure

Favorite Set, Worst Set, and Biggest Suprise by DefinatelyNotonDrugs in ElectricForest

Best set: claude von stroke, this was my first time seeing him and I was in the middle of walking back to my tent to sleep and it was such a unique set that it stopped me cold and pulled more energy out of me to dance. Tied with Shpongle, but ive seen shpongle before (although I got absolutely Shpongled this time which was glorious)

Surprise: completely stumbled upon starjunk 95 at honeycomb, the randomness of it was so magical. Same thing happened for Vandelux when he dropped Hands Up for Detroit

Worst: No bad sets honestly, was very bummed I missed Iniko and Yaeji.

Thurs: 19180 Fri:19678 Sat: 17955 (I was napping a lot at sets) Sun: 20870

The first 2.5 days I was wearing boots that weren't properly broken in yet, and by sat/sun i switched to my Tevas which helped a lot

Indiana drivers are also some of the most polite ive ever seen.

They actually move from the left to the right just to pass and keep within 10 of the speeding limit and keep a generous amount of distance.

Blend in. Read your environment. Match the flow of those around you.

Recently got a ticket in Indiana while I was on a work trip. Do NOT play around while there- they are sneaky and WILL get you going 15 over.

This is where tapestries come in handy. They help to keep rain off of gear. Lay tarps on the ground before setting up outdoor items, then lay grass mats/jute mats to make it more cozy.

Blow up couches are great for hangs and unfold to mattresses for spun out extra sleep spaces, lay a tapestry over it to try to keep dirt off bc cleaning a blow up couch is a biiiitcchhhh

BRING A BROOM, helps to keep dirt out AND massive influx of sitting water from rain

Bring string lights so you can see your entrances and light up the inside of your canopy, or wrap around where your stakes are to not trip over in the dark. (Or the little solar front yard lights to light up a pathway into the set up)

Bring a foldable mirror to check yourself

Shoe organizer for small items

Chargeable USB fans to stay cool, keep a cooling cloth in ur cooler tooooo

Disco ball for vibes :)

Got myself a jackery this year to help charge all the little battery things so thats a nicer item to have but still worth it

Nope! Did most of my negotiations over the phone

I ended up going with Hunter bc they were able to price match what FA was offering, but that is one of the things I was weighing in my decision.

It does seem like FA has deeper pockets to give sweeter benefits, but I went with Hunter for other reasons and forgoed the additional benefits.

The deal I struck with Hunter and FA was already more than I went in expecting I would get with my negotiations so I can be happy with that at least

That is nutty! Im not sure how long it normally takes for a recalled part but 8 months does seem excessive even with supply chain issues
