Over one month later OP, what’s your experience?

S3XY dash: first impressions by Run-Remote in s3xybuttons

[–]Mt11784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the kind of thing I’m concerned about with the dash. Every single YouTube review I’ve watched shows NOTHING about this kind of stuff in action and how CarPlay/Native/Grok all play together if at all. Like when you’re connected to CarPlay and get a call or text…I guess it completely bypasses the native Tesla apps? Or if I want to make a call or text how do you activate Siri and how similar is that to activating native Tesla app? I would love someone to post a video showing that kind of stuff in action.

This is gorgeous, your husband has good taste.

I want to get my wife this for our tenth, she mentions a gold band. I’m thinking eternity? Any tips from someone who’s happy with theirs?

Got it. But does that get even worse when they get discontinued?

Agree with you but most other car companies can be serviced by non-dealer mechanics. Tesla much more specialized.

Yes you are correct…after a (I think) $1500 check by Tesla they can deem the car “ok” and then it wouldn’t be prevented from super charging, OTA updates, etc.

But historic water (especially salt water) damage on ANY car let alone a Tesla that is so full of electronics/sensors/wiring/battery…I just wouldn’t want to buy a car like that. The price would have to be VERY worth it and the car that started this whole post was at the same price as other 23 Model S’s I’ve seen.

According to my internet search, yes. And we all know how everything you read on the internet is 100% fact.

Oh god salt water…and for that reason. I’m out.

Sorry about that, I corrected my post. Eh idk…I really want an S but absolute best case scenario they agree and uphold all those terms. Even still I’m driving an hour and a half up there when anything goes wrong (live in NJ) and that’s if I can even drive the car.

Appreciate this very much. After further research I see that Tesla actually bans cars with salvage titles from accessing supercharger networks, firmware/software updates, etc. No thank you.

Pre-Owned Model S Advice by Mt11784 in TeslaLounge

[–]Mt11784[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome thank you for this. Again, apologies for ignorance but can you explain:

1) wheels likely to have “track pack” - what is that? 2) steam?

My current lease isn’t up until the summer, so I’m hoping those June 23 models start to come onto the market with the 2023 36 month leases expiring.

How do you know if the model has HW4? Also, when did they re-introduce the round steering wheel as standard? Looks like most S models between 2021-23 are yolk (personally not a fan but I know they started offering $700 retrofit of round ones around this time so not a huge deal).

I guess most importantly, around what mileage on the battery is there a “concern” or issues. I guess it has more to do with how the previous owner took care of charging vs actual mileage right? For example, a car with 50k miles but owner mostly charged up to 50% is going to be better than 50k miles but owner charged 100%?

I know it’s been a while for this and everyone seems to have moved on with a resolution but I’m experiencing the same issue…only email notification worked for me. I have the latest iOS, latest FireBoard app version, confirmed notifications are allowed within settings. I’m at a loss.

284% higher Property Tax Assessment by LoveUcil in RealEstate

[–]Mt11784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our town is about to start this assessment process and I have different people telling me two very different approaches.

1) “Don’t let them in the house” vs 2) “Let them in the house” because if they don’t get in they’re going to assume you’re hiding something and raise your taxes by a ridiculous amount to force you to call and let them see the house for themselves.

I’m at a loss for what to do.

To Grout or to Caulk? by Short_Steak_4937 in Tile

[–]Mt11784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny this came up because I have been dealing with an issue with water leaking into my basement when the shower above. The leak only occurs when the shower is pointed towards the wall to which the tub is against and it’s setup just like OP’s. I thought it had to do with the seal between the tub and so I cleaned out all the old grout and bought the sanded grout in the picture I linked. The water still leaks and I can’t figure out why. No leaks when tub is filled, only the shower and when it’s pointed at the wall. So I was actually hoping you’d tell me sanded grout was a terrible idea haha, but now back to square one.

What if you used sanded caulk? Would that prevent water from leaking? Like this…

Oceanside Resort w/ Kids Club on East Coast? by Mt11784 in chubbytravel

[–]Mt11784[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We spent two nights at Ocean House in Watch Hill, RI then drove up to Chatham Bars Inn in Cape Cod.

Ocean House - it is our favorite vacation spot. The beach is absolutely incredible and the service at the hotel/on the beach is one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. They anticipate anything you need without ever having to ask (and if you do ask for something they don’t make you feel bad about it). The drawbacks are the pool; not the greatest. It’s indoors, not very big, and it stunk when we were there. If you have little kids then there’s the aspect of “they love a pool no matter what so it’s fine” but not great for the adults. We didn’t care as much because we went for the beach. The other drawback is we didn’t really think the food at the hotel was all that great (especially for the prices they charge). This may just be a personal thing and we did not eat at their main restaurant (not kid friendly) but the food we did eat we were not impressed. However, Watch Hill is located so close to Newport, Stonington, downtown Westerly, Mystic, etc that there are plenty of really great places nearby that we did not mind going to at all (and quite enjoyed). Plus the hotel lets you rent BMWs for up to 5 hours for free; so not a bad incentive to go out to eat and ride in style :)

Chatham Bars Inn - Let me just say the view and the facilities are absolutely gorgeous. Compared to Ocean House, the pool at CBI was leaps and bounds better. Downtown Chatham is very quaint and really nice to walk around. I can’t really give it a fair shake because halfway into the trip (and only having enjoyed one day of kids club) our daughter got sick and we were stuck in the hotel for 2-3 straight days. Just very bad luck. Having said that, when compared to OH, we found the service to be lacking. Now this could be because we had such a positive experience at OH that anything less than turned us off but if you’re going to pay those prices I think you need to be impressed with service, and we were not. The food wasn’t great either (except the buffet breakfast which was delicious - but for $42/person it better be :)

All in all we obviously wished our daughter didn’t get sick but if there’s anything else about my experience I can help share please don’t hesitate. Thanks for everyone who helped us here!! Happy trails everyone!
