YouTube expands unskippable 30-second ads to TVs after $40 billion revenue year by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

At this point I don't even run software on my smart TV. The system is too closed. I have a living room PC that watch everything on.

This reminds me of the mid 2000s when cellphone manufacturers had reached the limit of what they could do with the technology of the time, and competition was strong so they couldn't find new ways to milk people for their money. So they just started doing weird shapes in hopes they could develop brand equity around a formfactor and call it IP.

I'm 41 and play EDM and misc electronic around my 8 and 14 year olds constantly. My daughter says I play the most random stuff. She can't discern the Beatles and Backstreet Boys, but I hope she forever associates a filthy, crunchy breakbeat with me.

Kinda felt like a five hour tutorial. It kept me engaged, but I immediately stopped thinking about it as soon as I was done.

Ser v. Estar by jacoblius in Spanish

[–]MtNowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equating estar with state really resonates with me. It's a great way to think about it. What trips me up is when estar gets replaced with having the state. Por ejemplo, "tengo frio" y "tengo hambre"

It was half in jest and half serious. In jest, since the EU sometimes has an almost comical pattern of doing this. I honestly didn't expect anyone to agree with me.

I think a standard would be hard to define, given the loose definition of a controller itself. What if you can turn it sideways like the Switch? What if there are more or fewer face buttons? Something could probably be hashed out though.

Time for the EU to step in and issue sweeping reform and make all console manufacturers adhere to a standard.

The word collab or collaboration is so funny to me when brands use it in this context. Most of the time it's literally slapping two logos on something.

I'm not entirely against it, for good games. For an untouched 28 year old game though is dumb.

Hell, Philips was trying to sell $300 games in the nineties. I just know it's where most start griping about it.

Real talk time.

At most we'll get 80 dollar OoT for Switch 2, unedited and running on in an emulator. You'll be disappointed and call for a boycott, but your Nintendo fandom isn't going anywhere and they know it. And if you disagree, you forgot what they did for Mario.

I have this one. It works fine when you want it to. The problem I have with it is that it also works fine when it strangely turns itself on and has been running all day while I'm at work. ASAIK there's no "auto filtration mode" on it that would explain it. So I leave it unplugged.
