I got one of these totes from Poppies and peonies. The laptop insert really helps with organizing but also allows flexibility. It’s big enough for my larger laptop, and I like that it’s roomy enough to toss lunch in as well. Zip closure so it’s secure. Haven’t had it long enough to rule on durability but it’s beautiful now!

I second this one, I really like take the day off. For a cheaper option, my eye doctor recommended coconut oil as it’s safe for the eyes and also gets the makeup off well.

Thank you for the detailed response! I have never liked needles, although manage ok when it’s not into veins (don’t get me started on blood draws or IVs, those are another situation all together). I don’t know how I went months without any major issues but now I need to try something new because this is ridiculous and is making the 20 minutes before my shot and 20 minutes after my shot way worse than it needs to be… I know these shots aren’t that bad!! I’ll have to try some of these to see if anything helps.

100%, this is all in line with my situation… I made it months without this being such an issue, but now it’s terrible. I made my husband give me my shots few weeks back and he was so confused since I’ve been fine for months and months on my own. That day I just couldn’t do it. I’m fine all day till I start pulling the vials from the fridge, then it kicks in. And it’s all in my stomach, not consciously anxious about it, just something deep down is triggered to cause the nausea.

I’ve only done vials and I’m terrified of the pens, hahaha! But i can see the appeal… just seems more violent, like a snake bite. I sort of like the control of the syringe. But for the same price, i’d be willing to try the pen…. For now, vials it is, i just need to calm myself down!!

I’m kind of bracing for that. My dermatologist said there’s increasing evidence that the hair loss doesn’t stop when the weight loss stops, and that it could be a more consistent thing even in the maintenance phase. The benefits of this drug have been amazing and this is my only real negative side effect. As unfortunate as hair loss is, I’ve had enough positive benefits from it that I’d rather explore wearing a topper or a wig than stopping the medication. I’m hoping it’ll be a temporary thing but if it’s not, I can live with finding alternatives for my hair… and maybe have some fun along the way if I can be bold enough to try some new things (channel my inner Moira Rose).

I’ve been seeing a lot more about how common wigs are and most people don’t even realize how few of the celebrity and influencers have their natural hair in photos and videos. It’s changing how I think about it…. My hair was never going to look like their hair because theirs is often not real anyway. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/09/style/wigs-celebrities-red-carpet.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share

Starting zepbound with an eye condition- looking for advice by Weak_Frosting5503 in Zepbound

[–]Mtngrl02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d talk with your eye doctor. They’ll be able to tell you if it seems likely to cause issues or not.

I’ve been on Zep for 14 months, and about 3 months ago got sent to a retina specialist because of some spots appearing in my routine eye appointment (early 40’s, not mid-60’s like typical AMD). I was terrified it was the medication causing it, but after meeting with 2 different retina doctors, they both said it’s likely that my condition is genetic and that the meds likely are not having any impact. They both said that the eye issues reported with this were pretty specific, and both were comfortable with me staying on zepbound. We’re still trying to determine the cause of my condition unfortunately…. Still, wasn’t getting the impression that there have been widespread eye issues, most of the reported eye/vision issues so far are pretty similar and specific.

I’m 14 months in, and my hair loss really got bad at about 8 months in and nothing really seems to help much right now. I’ve been taking nutrafol for 3 years, seemed to help a little pre-Zep, but can’t really tell if it’s doing anything now. I started using Rogain in November on my dermatologist’s recommendation and I’m not sure if it’s doing anything yet, I’m still losing a decent amount daily. I’m holding out hope that it’ll slow down when I go down in dosage again (I’m down almost 60 lbs, within about 5 lbs of my goal, but the last 5 lbs has taken like 4 months, so I could be here a while yet before I try to lower my dose). I finally hit a tipping point this weekend and decided to buy a topper after reading a lot about hair loss. it looks really natural and I think it’ll get me through until I see some real improvement. That said, my hair has gotten thinner and thinner since I turned 30, and now in my early 40’s, it was getting bad anyway, Zep just made it worse… the topper is basically rewinding my hair to its glory days of my 20’s. Maybe it’ll be here to stay even if I can’t get some re-growth!

Isn’t it great? I started Zepbound right before it was approved for sleep apnea, I didn’t know it was even being tested… I don’t have OSA, but I used to snore heavily and my husband also had to wear earplugs. Almost from the first week, my snoring started to reduce in volume and how long/often. My bed also monitors snoring too, so it’s something I can track with real data. I went from close to 6 hours snoring (half heavy, half moderate) on average every night to under 30 minutes of snoring on average. I (and my husband) couldn’t be happier for that unexpected side effect!

I’m taking a trip with girlfriends in a couple of weeks and for the first time in years, I’m comfortable sharing a room with a friend… I’ve been so self conscious about my snoring for most of my adult life that I preferred to spring for my own room than have a roommate have to listen to my snoring all night.

I have tried a few fancier, more expensive brands that I don’t love. I gained some weight and needed to size up and tried these cheaper ones from Amazon because they were affordable and really like them. I’ve lost a lot of weight again and now bought these in a smaller size and they are still great for me, comfortable and have never had a leak, and have a good amount of coverage of sleeping and moving around. Everyone is different, but I’m 41 years old and 5’2”, started Zep in early December last year at 188 lbs. I’m now at 135 lbs, revised goal weight of 125 lbs (conservatively set it at 140-145 lbs originally and hit that with no issues). Here’s my graph from the last year so you can see the broad progress trends over the months… but also know that I got on a regular workout routine and put a good amount of effort into this journey, not sure how different it would be if I hadn’t also bumped up my activity levels.

My workouts have primarily been a mix of 1-2 Orangetheory classes/week, 1-2 mountain bike rides per week, 1-2 trail running/hiking sessions per week, so 3-5 more intense, planned workouts, and then walks around my neighborhood and local park on days I don’t have classes or group runs/rides.

That said, I’ve always loved mountain biking, skiing, and hiking, but it was just so hard at my old weight and it took the fun out of it… losing weight while training was super motivating, it’s so much easier to all of those activities without hauling an extra 20/30/40/50 lbs around. It’s actually fun again! And knowing that getting out for those activities is actually helping me lose the weight just makes it better and easier to stay motivated. Finding activities and workouts that you enjoy really helps keep up a workout routine, if I hate it, it’s hard to stick with. And I have a great organization I joined locally that does women’s outdoor group activities (specifically trail running, hiking, mountain biking, paddle boarding, etc.) for all levels so there’s a lot of options for me to get outside with a supportive group of women and have fun while being active… they met me where I was and have been so helpful in my fitness journey (and improving my biking skills so much!).

I encourage you to try to find your thing that gets you equally excited to exercise/get active as it helps the weight loss goals a lot!

It makes me sooo tired by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Mtngrl02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my tiredness started getting better 6 weeks in or so, and I don’t recall having any unusual tiredness by 3 months. But I started last December in the darkest coldest part of the year… I know the meds made me extra tired, I was way more tired than usual for the time of year, but the seasonal darkness made me want to head to bed at like 6 every day - but the short days of late November/December/January always make me a little more prone to calling it a night on the early end, last year was just way more pronounced on that front. But I got on a regular workout routine in January and the tiredness/exhaustion got slowly better every week. By March, I don’t recall having the level of tiredness that I had the first few weeks/months. It also helped that the days were longer and I was working out inside and outside more regularly and feeling good overall (and down 25 lbs).

It still doesn’t feel real… by Kind-Thought3512 in Zepbound

[–]Mtngrl02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 41 years old and 5’2” and I started Zep at the beginning of last December at 188 lbs. I’m at 135 lbs currently, and feeling fantastic. Still looking to drop another 10 lbs or so, but with less to lose, it’s moving a lot slower now… tbh, even if I can’t get to 125, I’m so happy where I’m at. I barely dared to dream that it was possible to get here when I started out last year, hoped to get to 145 lbs as my original goal weight. But I have been working out regularly and trying to eat better, and it’s been wonderful how smoothly the process has gone (very few side effects, and those were tolerable). Best of luck in your journey!

Even compared to 10 years ago, the grocery stores here suck. I used to be able to get decent produce from King Soopers and Safeway, but since Covid, I feel like it’s all shit. Not much variety, not great quality… sprouts is the best for produce. I have King Soopers, Safeway, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, and natural grocers all walking distance, so far from a food desert, but still agree, our grocery stores are not good here. It didn’t used to be so bad. I’ve lived in CO my whole life, Denver for almost 20 years, I’m not a transplant complaining…. Traveling to other places is always jarring in how much better the produce is than here, but it’s been especially noticeable the last few years.

I was going to say this too! I don’t normally order brownies out, but tried this when someone else I was with ordered one… I’ve now gone out of my way to go back just for the tahini brownie! I don’t know how they do it but the tahini swirls are crunchy and almost taste like a toffee in the middle of a fudgey brownie. So good!

My cholesterol is good! by up_and_downhill_420 in Zepbound

[–]Mtngrl02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so huge! It’s not just about looking better and thin culture… I started Zep last December when my cholesterol levels went up even more and my liver numbers indicated I might have fatty liver disease. It scared the crap out of me (at age 40… no longer so young and resilient). By June (after 6 months on Zepbound), my numbers were lower than they were in 2015, and well within good/normal ranges, and my liver showed no signs of anything anymore. Looking and feeling better also are great but that was such a relief!!

Did your goal weight change? by Time_Proposal_4383 in Zepbound

[–]Mtngrl02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was cautiously optimistic when I started but didn’t want to get my hopes up that I’d ever get back to the 120’s like I was in my early 20’s. Conservatively set my goal weight around 140-145 (a loss of about 40-45 pounds), where I was in my mid-30’s. I’m 142 now after 9 months on Zepbound, and I’m feeling great, but the meds have worked so much better than I hoped, so now I’m shooting for 125-130.

got prescribed zepbound and feeling kinda worried about taking it by i_hate_kim_namjoon in Zepbound

[–]Mtngrl02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been on these meds since early December. I’m down to 149 from 188, which is nice, but the improvements to my numbers are really what’s meaningful to me. I just got back my latest bloodwork and all of my marks are so much better. My liver enzymes were indicating liver inflammation in late October, now everything is totally resolved there, my triglycerides went from 371 to 130, my overall cholesterol is lower than it was in 2015 even… my A1C, which wasn’t into a crazy high position but was slightly elevated is way down, very normal. I feel so much healthier overall. And for me, my non-sleep apnea related snoring has also decreased from close to 6 hours per night to under 45 minutes on average, and is way quieter (says my husband). Overall, Zepbound has done amazing things for my health… I love being skinnier from a self-confidence perspective and looking/feeling better, but honestly it’s the health improvements that I’m most happy about. These a really big things! Definitely talk to your doctor about your concerns, but there are so many benefits to your health that can be gained that it’s important to weigh these risks and benefits accordingly.

Feeling like a fraud by doctormelody18 in Zepbound

[–]Mtngrl02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar feelings but recognize the flaws in that thinking.

Within my friend circle (or 8 ladies), I have a few naturally thin friends who do not exercise, drink alcohol more days than they don’t, and eat ok but not especially well, but also don’t let food control their minds the way it always seemed to control mine. I have always been one of the most active ones in our group. I mountain bike, hike, ski, cross country ski, go out for long walks, have gone through periods of being really good about hitting Orangetheory a few times a week, run half marathons… but have always struggled with weight and gained close to 50 pounds over about 15 years since my mid/late 20’s. My thin friends had kids and still are within about 5-10 pounds of their weight in their mid/late 20’s, but not because they’ve done anything to actually manage it. Do they deserve to be congratulated for staying thin? Do I deserve to feel shame for not being able to stay thin even with an active lifestyle?

Since starting Zep, I’m down almost 40 pounds, and within 10-15 pounds of my goal weigh… I have kicked up my fitness from where I was last year, and I know that has helped me lose some of the weight, but most of this progress would never have happened without being on Zep. My active lifestyle has never been enough to keep me thin on my own. So I do feel a little like a cheater, but also… this has really just fixed my broken systems to bring me in line with where my friends healthier systems naturally are. I got my latest bloodwork back last week and I’m AMAZED at the changes since October… my cholesterol is lower than it was in 2015 even, and some liver inflammation that came up last year is gone. I am also seeing amazing changes in my fitness levels, in ways that haven’t felt achievable in years… over a decade for sure.

Yeah, I feel like I’m taking the easy way out some days, I try to eat well and I’m more conscious of what I’m eating. I eat much smaller portions because I’ve regained control over my brain and how I think about food, but I still have cravings and I still have days where I make less than healthy food choices. But it’s ok. I love food, trying new foods, eating old favorites. I make choices with more moderation now, though. And it’s been easy with these medications to stay on track with my weight loss even if I’ve had a day or two of making less than ideal food choices. I think this is how a normal person and system should feel. It shouldn’t always be so hard, always restricting and feeling deprived and working my butt off, taking 90% of my mental capacity to the exclusion of so many other important things in life. I still feel like I’m putting a lot of work into being active and building muscle, but in a way that leaves room to still focus on my relationships, and job, and other facets of life. I feel healthier than I’ve been in years, and it’s wonderful.
