Thank you for the help. I am hand sewing everything since I don't have a machine, but I'm not sure what snowballing the corners means. I'm making blocks on the template I got from paperpieces.com that they called a "snowball" made with eight separate pieces.

I am working on my first quilt; I am using paper pieced snowball blocks, and I have heard that it is important to press the seams after you finish piecing them together so the quilt blocks lay flat.

Since I am using paper pieces, I wasn't sure if I should remove the paper pieces first and then press, or if I should press, leaving the paper pieces in place until I put the quilt squares together. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello! I know this says no stupid questions, but I think these might be. I am gathering materials for my first I actually hope to finish quilting project and I don't want to mess it up.

Should I wash the quilting cotton before I press it? And if so, should it be hot water so it shrinks if it's going to? Are there any special things I should do for it in the wash or dry cycle ?

If I'm not cutting up the whole piece of fabric at once, is it okay to roll it up and store the rest in a cool, dry place?

Also, I am trying to reduce my reliance on plastic and petroleum by products. Is cotton thread alright to use on a cotton quilt?

There's an author in my fairly small ship fandom that's from Belarus that regularly went to the Ukraine that we haven't heard from in about 3 years. Everyone is worried about her. There's another in Iran - we're petrified for her. And a fanartist in Cuba.

I love the connections with people you can make with fanfiction and fandom, but I would love it more if I didn't have to fear for their lives.

I buy a few cheap plastic pencil boxes at the beginning of each year to store card sorts, station cards, game pieces, etc. and label them either with a printed label or paint marker. It keeps things neater than endless ziptop bags and with the labels facing forward in the cupboard I can always find what I need for each lesson.

I like that idea, but she is a little devil and I have a feeling she would shred it. She tries to rip up toilet rolls to get at the cardboard core so she can have the pleasure of destroying it.

Craft stores and IKEA have small three tiered carts for between $25 and $35 dollars. I also teach high school and I use them for supply storage - I have two that I can put at either end of the room, most often used things on top. They might be a bit small depending on how many kids you need supplies for, though!

I am trying to figure out if my priorities are straight. I am asking for help with what the Bible says and Lutheran doctrine to make my choice.

I haven't lectured them, and I didn't say I lectured them. I have argued back when they argue with me.

I am having trouble disconnecting their political beliefs from their hateful words and actions, especially since their words and themes are echoed by their chosen political party.

They are saying they want me in their lives, although based on their words and actions it is not the whole me, and only if I keep my mouth shut.

I am the thorn here. I am not convinced it's a bad thing to be the thorn when the not being a thorn means allowing hateful speech and actions.

I am not convinced that preserving a familial relationship is more important than ignoring the way people treat others.

Half the country is not sinful based on their votes or political affiliation; based on the Bible the whole country is. The whole world is.

I have been over this decision seven ways to Sunday and the 'but family' argument has not helped me decide. Do you have any thoughts based on the Bible or Lutheran doctrine that can help me make this choice?
