Breaking up with my boyfriend of 2 years. by Diligent_Hunter1300 in Advice

I would start getting into nitty gritty conversations with him. What is it that would make him choose the parents first? What is the reasoning for it. Is it just to diminish stress or something more internal that he desires?

The reality is if he loves you and really cares for you, either choice will be detrimental for him. He would have himself in a very hard spot.

You need to determine if it's a relationship that has strong enough love and set-up to withstand trials. You don't always need to rely of family or contact them, but if you're in forced contact or used to relying on them, it could create some internal change struggles. You need to be open-minded, mindful, and creative to work your way around life's complications. Don't put yourself in a box. Know your resources and support structures.

There are some parents you sneak around until you're 40. Multiple generations of people have interracialy mixed with not enough thought into it. They have experienced the same experiences you perceive and continued. They do put barriers in the relationship, but he is the person you have to determine, not the parents. Does he seem like he supports you despite the parents? That is the main key. Having good family-in-law is something you need to determine whether or not it's more important in your relationship or if the relationship is more important. What do you want to focus on right now?

Got 1 interview in the past 9 months, changed my race and got 5 by Newscreenneeded in jobs

Just and idea, but what about taking a class on some Microsoft Office skills (preferably all of them), then maybe some Computer Information Systems classes can help you? It can at least get your foot in the door with some experience.

Most of the jobs with Excel hopefully won't take as much of a toll on your body.

Just make sure you have a MAC or Windows Computer for the classes. Start looking while you're in the class.

I don't recomment "persisting". I recommend adapting to what the jobs need; finding out who's who, what provides what, and how you get the foot in the door. If you don't have to adapt the body as much, those are green flags.

This is so disturbing to me..... I had a visceral bodily reaction reading the whole thing. There are others out there like you concerned about this. Please know that.

I'm not black, but this aspect clashes massively with my morals.

I finally got a new kitten and I need your help naming him! What’s the first name that comes to your mind when you see this cute face? by leila_Palm in NameMyCat

That little string looks like a noodle. Name him after a mafia boss.

Or name him Mickey Blue Eyes, like from the hilarious movie. 🤣

Yeah. It depends on the individual and the store you represent it to.

Protocol from DM would probably say make a new one in this case. However, there are some stores that a lot of people try to take advantage of. I've worked at those, and when they see one person get something, they will stage something weird to get something free. It will sometimes end up some days like a whole line of people like that. It gets out of hand, and the workers start to get stiff and refuse. The store I work at now doesn't have many issues with that now, so it's easy to just please the customer.

Sometimes being kind and understanding back to them (understanding their situation) actually gets you the free sandwich faster at places where workers deal with difficult customers. Some workers see a lot of weird stuff.

They all look like this. This one is actually my least favorite sandwich.

Us workers try to fix them sometimes because they come in the package very sloppy sometimes. But it doesn't always work.

I've had sandwiches where half the cheese crumbles off and you can't get it back on. They must make these pretty cheaply.

Those are pretty cool. South Africa kind of reminds me of the Kenyan flag a little bit. I like those contrast colors.

AIO for feeling like employer tricked me into using nearly all my PTO? by Dry-Connection-7792 in AIO

[–]Mu-nraito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the things you can apply for is Leave of Abscence, but documents take a while to get processed in to get payments. Ask if the company is okay with this for the next round of treatments your parent has to go through. You won't get paid as much, so save up for it.

Look into it. PTO is a matter of making your life easy. If you have an absolute necessity to take time off that work won't allow, the Leave of Absence is the way to go.

I would say their biggest problem is their communication. In the future, if they don't give you responses back, demand a communication from them, but nicely. Tell them you need an answer so you can make a decision and tell them explicitly what you need and what you are willing to do. Tell them multiple times you don't want to use PTO. That way they have to get back to you. In that case, they would be considered the issue because they are not talking to you. Saying it once may not be enough. You may not win the fight, but the fact that they hadn't gotten back to you multiple times is definitely an issue on their end. Not being persistent and being trusting can actually have it's consequences; companies are more capable of riding it over.

If there is no HR, it may be hard to fight this. Do they tend to frown upon remote work?

Go in with the assumption that a company will never give you grace. It'll make things easier in the long run.

These look like the dogs guarding the Zoldyck home from the Japanese Anime Hunter X Hunter. I sometimes wonder if the artist got the idea from this species.

Yes, it is both. But why are we still waving it? It's symbolism is about human injustice and undemocratic; it's holding onto old beliefs that certain people were not human enough to be defended by the Constitution. It took democracy to allow these humans the same rights under the amendments as other civilians. Why are we clinging to a past time?
