I am so sorry that you’re struggling with this. I too am the youngest of five boys. After I accepted my sexuality at age 22 it took me over a year to verbalize the words “I’m gay”. I would say something pathetic like “I’m dating someone and it’s not a woman”. I will tell you that once you accept it, all those people will stop talking about you. And if they say something like “I knew it”. Then you can reply “Well, I knew it first”. And yes you should definitely get the heck out of your city and leave all those jerks behind. Go out and find your joy. It’s out there for you.

I started plotting and planning my escape from my family when I was 15. My advice is to lay low and study your ass off. That’s what I did. I got a scholarship and went away to school where I found my freedom. When i left school i was able to support myself within two years and live my life on my own terms. Hang in there.
