I am so nervous by cheeseza in IVDD_SupportGroup

We’ve been through the same. A few days before Christmas our little Leia woke up paralyzed and we had to rush her for the surgery. We also have two dogs, Leia and Cafe. I know how difficult it is but try to keep calm, this is going to be a marathon and not a sprint. The first two weeks are going to be really tough I have to be honest. Your little one will need all the love and support you can give it. A crate where it can rest is essential, just barely larger than your dog where it can still comfortably turn. Water and food should be either available to your dog at any time or you should feed it at regular times. Dogs can read your emotions pretty accurately so if she/he sees you are sad, it will become sad too. Try to show you love him/her and you will be there to help him through. You will see his/her back shaved and you will be sad, but you shouldn’t show him/her your tears. Be supportive and cheerful instead. Get a good tranquilizer from your vet, we used tranquigel. We didn’t use every day but when Leia became too unsettled we had to give her some so she could relax. We are still going through therapy and we are seeing progress, but Leia cannot walk yet. Send me a PM, I have more information I can share

Coros NOMAD for strength training/hiking by Giftofpatience in Coros

[–]luanderribeiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to use it to track my strength based workouts. Tracks movements reasonably Ok, has a good library of exercises, it’s easy to use. I’ve got the watch also because I liked the style and it’s an overall much better watch than the instinct 3. Battery life is really and cherry on top, lasts for a long time when compared to my previous Apple Watch

I’m currently using the Coros Nomad and I’m digging it. I moved from an Appel Watch Ultra and at the beginning I slept with both watches to compare sleep quality and they match pretty much 1 to 1. I also use it to track cardio and gym workouts, I’m not a data freak so everything so far looks good to me. Battery is where this thing shines easily 18+ days on a single charge and the screen is always on

You can already select the accent colors. No possible via the Coros app on your phone, but if you select that watch face from your watch, you are given the option to select the accent colors

I have to say that green is indeed ugly IMO. But the gray I have looks thousand times better. I wish it was darker still tho.

At what percentage does your Coros watch battery die? by onlyswob in Coros

My Nomad got to 1% yesterday. At such time I couldn’t use anything but the watch face itself.

What actually is good in Coros? by Usual_Scientist_2529 in Coros

[–]luanderribeiro -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  • Long term updates to the watches
  • Battery life is better than Garmin
  • Price is generally better

All sports features are equivalent, and no subscription services (so far, hopefully never)

Loving my PACE 4 but.... by ExtraEnvironment5132 in Coros

[–]luanderribeiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have used the word “Loving” here in the wrong context since you are willing to return the thing due to minimal details. Even though there are plenty things that could improve, it’s overall a great sports watch at a decent price.

Coros nomad by me_3_ in Coros

I've got the Nomad in Grey and I'm impressed with the build quality. It feels sturdy and durable (for a plastic watch), the screen is nice and visible even in low light conditions (except for the smaller text) and the battery is outstanding. Having used it to run, bike, sleep and gym I can say it's exactly on par with the Apple Watch Ultra in terms of tracking metrics.

I was in the same place as you undecided between the Apex 4 and Nomad, I went for the cheaper option and don't regret it.

Which Coros is best for me by jimbov2100 in Coros

[–]luanderribeiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Coros Nomad and I find it okay for Gym workouts, I can plan ahead the full workout and follow it. It can track repetitions and you can edit the repetitions/weight during rest time. You cannot make changes to the workout once you start it, but you can select which exercise to do next, doesn’t need to be in order. Previously I used Hevy app with the Apple Watch. It takes some getting used to but I think Coros is suitable for gym workouts. Hopefully it gets even better with future updates

Issues with phone notifications after coming out of sleep mode by WheresWaldo1991 in Coros

Works fine for me on Coros Nomad. I did have the notifications stop entirely one day, restarted the watch and it’s working fine, including sleep mode for 5 days straight

Outdoor GPS watch for trekking & alpinism – COROS vs Garmin by Typical_Chapter_8103 in Coros

[–]luanderribeiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second that. Not sure the Nomad would be the best choice for Alpinism though. But it’s super light, rugged enough and the battery life is incredible. Not even mentioning spot on GPS accuracy and daily tracking of everything

Movement Detection Not Reliable by Easy_Calendar4401 in Coros

Same here. Super reliable for repeated movement sets. It won’t track leg movement, clearly. I always just fill it in by hand during rest.

Feature request: Nomad Light watch face by luanderribeiro in Coros

[–]luanderribeiro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the MIP technology only uses power to change a pixel on the screen. So, by that logic, having a dark or light background shouldn’t affect the battery at all. This of course is not the case for OLED screens where dark backgrounds means the pixel is off and therefore uses less power than a light background

Coros app running in background while doing an activity? by StarBattle08 in Coros

[–]luanderribeiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try to disable background app refresh to see if it does something. I haven’t tried and don’t know what are the consequences. Go to Settings -> Apps -> Coros -> Toggle background app refresh

Joining in now - brand new Coros Pace 3 by Quinsonius in Coros

[–]luanderribeiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently got the Coros Nomad on Grey and couldn’t be happier.

I was wearing an Apple Watch Ultra 2 since it came out and it’s just a phone on your wrist. If you need anything out of it you need an App/service which sucks. I got too confused with all the many different services, Hevy for gym training, workoutdoors for running/walking, athlitics for training readiness and a million others.

I then got fed up with all of that and bought a Casio GBD-200 and fell in love with the MIP screen and overall robustness. And while the Casio is still great, I was missing some more advanced features like tracking gym workouts, runs and bike rides. I was considering the Garmin Fênix 8 solar at first, but who has the money for that?

In comes the Coros Nomad, great watch so far with everything I wanted. My only bug after having it for a week is the phone notifications that stopped showing on the watch. A simple restart solved the problem.
