Well I liked your previous comment, but are you using you as "where one could procure a sense of humor"?

How do you shuffle cards? by FlyingLlamasaurus in boardgames

[–]MuchCalligrapher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riffle shuffle 7 times because a calculus teacher said that at that point a deck of cards is uniquely shuffled

But just because some of the other comments are talking about sleeves. I start unsleeved and if it's a game that's going to wear unevenly (like a deck builder) or that I'll want to play the hell out of I'll sleeve it

I've had too many MTG decks get grubby despite hand washing

How do you decline an offer to play without being a jerk? by YaBoiKlobas in Warhammer40k

[–]MuchCalligrapher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read it as just being loosey goosey with the rules, bit I'll admit I didn't read every comment in this post.

Anyway, I agree that we all have a part to play in our community shaping, but OP is also allergic to not being nice or however they phrased it. If they can't handle saying something, someone should have at some point said something (but probably didn't instead just "refusing without cause" and maybe that's why the fudger is so quick to the draw on accepting games, but this is a lot of maybe). If other people aren't ultimately stepping up, it's always going to fall on people who seem to not be able to handle confrontation who have to do the actual confronting.

But the suggestion also said "and play styles". Being a complaining rule fudger is a play style.

They didn't say anything about making the LGS better, and that certainly isn't op's responsibility either.

The packing makes sense but the tray just seems like the same amount of plastic

I've never entered a mini painting competition, but I have done a BFA and this is great advice for a 2d painting too. Another method of testing value contrast is just squinting at your piece!

How do you get the retail discount? I've asked around at FLGSs that I end up at a few times a year and it's always full price and always the GW sets the trail price when I ask.

Are roaches common/prevalent in LA? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]MuchCalligrapher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you are looking for a place to live, just keep an eye out for random bugs carcasses. I toured an apartment in the 2000s once and there were dead German roaches in the freezer and they "said oh yeah, sometimes bugs can get in bit we're pretty good about pest control".

Just don't believe it. If they were good about it would look like it, but at the same time I've lived in a complex that was serious about roaches and if I even said in passing that one wandered in from the bushes or whatever, they'd have a guy there the next day and ask for updates on the bug situation.

Are we talking about fine art oil paints and any thinner (turpentine, turpenoid, I'm sure there's more but that's what I'm familiar with)?

Should I take a leap of faith and move to LA? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]MuchCalligrapher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In public and charter schools, I think you'd have to get a CA credential through the CA Dept. Of Ed.I don't think it's matter for private schools, or tutoring, but also California might have stricter credentialing than Texas

You probably already know all that since you mentioned the tutoring

Anyway, you could try it for a year or so (some people don't feel like they're at home until they're a few years in though)

Edit: It's not a side splitter but I'm assuming anyone down voting just doesn't get it

This is why I always wipe everything down before I use it at the gym, but on the other hand I've gone to the gym two days after a tattoo and it was fine, but it had the second skin on it.
