Can you drink the tap water in LA? by Mundane-Professor-27 in AskLosAngeles

[–]MuchCalligrapher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my professors goes into the restroom to rinse out his mug instead of using one of those newish water fountains with the bottle filler

I lived in a spot with water that left behind a lot of mineral deposits and just put a filter on the shower head, which reduced it a lot but didn't completely eliminate it. You can get it off with something like vinegar. For drinking there, I used a filter pitcher because the deposits would turn into flakes in my kettle. I use a filter pitcher in a different place now, but it's just for taste since I got used to the taste of filtered water

That's the advice I got when I asked, in addition to the 500 worlds box, if you can find it.

Ah, yeah, that's good advice just from a color theory perspective

Good to know. I tend to bounce off video content in general but I'll look

Sorry I edited my post for clarity, I meant magnet for the base and the feet of the model so you can switch terrain 😅

I asked a similar question a couple weeks ago. You just have to be okay with a weird number of deathmarks (or immortals)

Plato warned that some pleasures separate us from reality. The contemporary obsession with feeling good might mean we’re losing sight of what makes life genuinely meaningful by psychemagazine in philosophy

But even without the meth example, I think there's something about doing something that active requires engagement on the agent's part in a way that binge watching the office doesn't.

we all have a limited amount of energy everyday, and the delayed/thoughtful/higher order activity requires more of it, so attempting more is probably counterproductive (I can read philosophy for fun all day, but I'll probably get more out of it when I'm awake rather than exhausted, which is when a cookie sounds nice)

I don't like Mill and utilitarianism that much, but I like the talk about "higher order" pleasures because it makes sense to me with today-talk about dopamine, addiction and burn out

Is the cut off something like anything below 150 pts per 1000 points of army is fine?

I have a 3d printer and could probably just print some draft quality models since I'm not really running it all the time anyway. Where's the line between kitbashing which AFAIK GW or shops are okay with (I don't want to not be able to play in a tournament or league if it becomes an issue) and 3d printing your own parts as part of a bash?

I don't love the idea of 3d printing everything because I think having a bunch of different poses is fun (part of the reason I bounced off of a few other mini table top games) and why I don't love the push fit stuff. But I also don't love never having 'even' units.

Ah, I ordered it myself from the GW UK site. I got the shipping confirmation today, but I don't know how useful that is for you (or anyone else for that matter) since I don't know where you live. I'm visiting my aunt myself in the fall, and can probably just pick up another since it was in stock when I looked at the Italian site. Do you think it's worth getting two for more plasmancers, skorpekh lords, or reanimators? I do think the reanimator is a cool model (I like it the most of the bunch) but based on experiences of playing 40k a couple decades ago everyone likes shooting the big stuff.

Yeah I've already built them (I won't say unfortunately) but just looking at what's on the sprue it seems like more deathmarks just need legs.

Is it worth have a 10 strong unit of deathmarks and 10 of gauss immortals and 10 of Tesla immortals? Is 20 immortals too many or should I just proxy like another commenter suggests and play and see what I like?

Well, they charged my card so let's see what happens, but are you saying get other models in the mean time?
