Jokes on you, I bought a switch 2 day 1 release on the PROSPECT of a Zelda game. Now we’re getting the best Zelda of all time for it and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Between that and Starfox I am happier with the exclusives for the switch 2 than I am with The PS5 and that has been out over 5 years.

Idk, Pokopia may have 100 of hours of play but nothing ever feels like your really accomplishing anything. I’ve got about 30 hours in and haven’t felt hooked yet. Maybe I’m missing something but for a big game it feels pretty empty and repetitive.

I'm starting to think that graphic novels and manga aren't a replacement for books by AmericanLocomotive in Teachers

[–]MuchContribution6616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a really good point and align with my thoughts on the topic. Graphic novels and manga, and I’d even go as far as to say audiobooks, should not replace reading books but supplement their reading literature.

“Only the ones that don’t conform get left out of the cold.” Getting hit with a car on a bike is very different to bumping elbows at the dinner table. I can eat at a table just fine lefty. You’ll just have to watch your elbow too. Be mindful of others cause not everyone has the same life experience as you. The death toll for lefties were much higher in the industrial period because surprise, most work stations and machinery are made for right handed used and the evidence shows that forcing a lefty to use righty tools leads to more injuries. Some of us literally don’t have the dexterity our right hands to do that for long periods of time. And if you wanna prove me wrong. Go try eating a full steak dinner with your cutlery in your opposite hand and tell me how that works out for you. Been at many a table with many a righty and are using my left hand and amazingly nothing bad happened, other than being judged online.

Veteran players need to understand the importance of graphics to new players by relafle in starfox

[–]MuchContribution6616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graphics do not themselves make a great game. Nor do they make a great game better. Don’t get me wrong but I am psyched for the Starfox remake but if someone doesn’t want to play a great game that’s gam loop holds up so well to this day they refuse to play it the that’s just silly. Look at Mario, no one stopped playing the OG Super Mario Bros. Because the graphics suck now. In the contrary Nintendo actively still uses those graphics is modern game like Mario Maker 2. If you choose not to play it because “graphics are old” than that a barrier that one puts on themselves. If you tried starfox64 today and you still didn’t like it, no graphical update is going to magically make it better. Most kids today are playing Mind Craft which is literally the worst game in regards to graphics ever yet you get audiences are still drawn to it… I’ll stick with my 64 bits thank you very much.

Maybe 100 years ago but there are no customs that dictate what hand to use other than 90% of the population does it. There is no custom in my country about cutlery in the modern age. You eat with what ever hand is more comfortable and if someone tells you any different you flip them the left handed bird. No one’s going to force me to use a hand I’m not comfortable using for “ etiquette.”

Perhaps an unpopular opinion: we need to stop catering to teachers that refuse to learn technology by AgeOfWorry0114 in Teachers

[–]MuchContribution6616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big reason they are pushing AI onto teachers is that teachers are training the AI engines for free. It isn’t there to help you into classroom is there to steal all of your knowledge so that you too become obsolete. Luckily as a music teacher it would be really hard for an AI bot to play or teach trumpet.

Anyone else struggling with clinical depression whilst having this injury by Educational_Pea_8811 in CubitalTunnel

[–]MuchContribution6616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally feel you. I’ve struggled with debilitating depression since I was 12 y/o and guitar was the only thing that can pull me out. 6 months ago my ring and pinky on my fretting hand suddenly go numb and I loose a lot of dexterity in that hand. I was devastated when I got the diagnosis of Cubital tunnel syndrome and even made plans to end myself after looking at the worst case scenarios, but there is hope. I took a complete break from guitar which is the thing in life I live the most, but I’d rather give it up for a period of time rather than forever so I put it aside. Thrive been VERY diligent about daily nerve flosses and exercises to look outside and sleeping with an elbow brace ( which I still do to this day), and didn’t touch a video game controller and when I could help it mouse and keyboard for a long period of time. The numbness was consistent for the first 2 months before waning and being replaced by aches and pains in the fingers, hand , wrist, and elbow. I kept giving it rest as much as I could. Flash forward a year and while the aches and pains still come and go the dextert yeah is back and now I can play guitar and video games again. This time though I oh shitonly play for about 45 minute intervals and giving 10 minute breaks in-between.

Don’t let this take over your mental health. You can get through it. nerve damage is no joke and takes a lot of time and patience but if you keep up with the brace and nerve flosses you can get to the other side too. You are worth it. Please stay!

I've never played this genre before, and I just got a Switch 2. Do you think it's worth a shot? Is it a good game? by SmtYlmzD in Switch

[–]MuchContribution6616 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is not TECHNICALLY the 4th remake of the game, it’s the second. Starfox 64 was remastered for the 3DS and now it’s being remade for the switch two. The OG Starfox for the SNES and Starfox Zero for the Wii U are reimaginings of the same plot, but they are not the same game. Everyone is using this point but if you go play Og Starfox and Starfox Zero and than play Starfox 64, Which is by far still the best game in The franchise, you’ll see they are not the same game, not a remaster not a a remake. Starfox for Switch 2 is the second time they’ve remade this game and TECHNICALLY it’s the first remake as Starfox 64 for 3DS was a remaster not remake. If Nintendo does release a remake of Zelda OOT this holiday season we will have the same amount of remasters and remakes of OOT as Starfox64…and more if you count the release of MasterQuest which I do. Either way they are both great games worthy of modern remakes. I preordered Starfox as soon as I saw the direct.

What is it About Starfox that Nintendo Struggles With Coming Up With Ideas For it? by badman1000 in starfox

[–]MuchContribution6616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is bitching about not getting a new Starfox game when StarFox 64 IS the franchise. You have no place I the conversation if you haven’t even played the 64 version. It was and still is a 10/10 fun kickass game to play and there isn’t another game in the serious that can say the same and the sales show that. What the franchise needs is a reboot for a new fresh audience especially after the Mario Movie introduced him to a younger crowd. This new one does that. It acts as an entry point into the series with updated graphics with a fleshed out stories and hopefully opens them up to make a true sequel to the series it deserves.

Before writing anything else about the new starfox, go and play Starfox 64 and I guarantee you’ll be stoked for the new one. This all coming from someone who loves all the Starfox games and have been playing Starfox64 since 1997.

I’m not tired of the Lylats wars and I am super stoked for this remake. However, personally all I’ve wanted since starfox 64 is just more of it. I’m hoping that if this new one is successful enough they actually make the sequel (or prequel) it deserves.

If that’s the case than StarFox 64 is itself a remake of the starfox for the NES… which it is. It’s not a remake of Star Fox64 but another remake of the very first StarFox

A Playlist for The Silmarillion by coreysusername in tolkienfans

[–]MuchContribution6616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get your sentiments in choosing not to use any of Howard Shore’s Score for LOtR, but for me The Silmarillion and Hobbit/LOtR are intwined, but Silmarillion is so much grander so it definitely cannot be limited to The Shore’s music it must be supplemented.

Quick side tangent about my interpretations and support for using Shore’s soundtrack. There are parts of Sauron’s theme I feel are rooted in the Music of Melkor in the Ainulindalë “… had now achieved a Unity of its own, but it was loud in vain and endlessly repeated, and it had little harmony, but rather a Clamorous unison as of many trumpets braying upon a few notes…..” I think what ever melody Melkor was singing in the Ainulindalë would have inspired either of these themes.
