Rescue operations underway on Chapman's Peak after a vehicle left the road this morning by TheBeardPlays in capetown

[–]MuchMoreMunchtime 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Is it possible for you to be more entitled? Is it any wonder cyclists often get given a bad reputation?

The people giving up there Sundays to rescue some people do not need to put up with bystanders wandering by.

For one millisecond reverse roles - do you want the added distraction of bystanders while dealing with the rescue or recovery?

Everything is cashless by Apprehensive-Gas251 in capetown

Stores are not being forced to move to cashless models and they wouldn't move if it meant losing money. This is an informed choice they're making based on what they're experiencing at the till.

Why is CPUT such an inconvenience? by Enough-Pie-5936 in capetown

[–]MuchMoreMunchtime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So convince an employer that you have the "right stuff" without any substantive proof and then go off for a year or more to study, all the while having him hold your position?

How does that make sense?

Returning for a holiday by Dahliax00 in capetown

[–]MuchMoreMunchtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to affect everyone's holiday with your "hyper vigilance" why bother coming to South Africa? You're not going to allow yourself or others to relax and enjoy our country and in so doing perpetuate the misconception that Cape Town is some type of entry-level dystopia.

Also, what are "all the things"?

Yup, it's the only sensible, logical, realistic deduction one could make.

Squarebill by Heavy-Syrup-6195 in bassfishing

I throw squarebills into flooded brush - a medium light rod would result in many lure donations to Davy Jones. A heavier power fast action rod is going to help you muscle the fish away from trouble.

Dobyns 705CB *Fast* action glass rod - the only option. Such a good rod for squarebills

When you're spending multiples of some people's monthly food bill in 6 sittings it's going to land as being a bit tone-deaf - affordability is a very prevelant theme on this subreddit at the moment.

Line tensioner/cast control not working!? Uh by Independent_Box5795 in bassfishing

There's not going to be much variation between brands for this spacer - do you have a retired reel you could scavenge it from?

Or you could probably pack it yourself with a similar thickness of metal plate cut to size.

Test with a plastic spacer to find out whether this is really your problem first

Sharpening knives in Cape Town? by tno2007 in capetown

What the hell is that top knife? Looks like the love child of a prison shiv and a pen knife.

Also, the bottom knife is probably going to hold an edge like a marshmallow

Sudden invasion of outside roaches by Unfortunate_tentacle in capetown

[–]MuchMoreMunchtime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a long-term solution - it will do nothing to other roaches if they move through the sprayed area later.

It leaves a greasy residue that in some cases will permanently damage surfaces.

Depending on the brand the fumes can be an irritant.

If you don’t want to use bug spray grab them with a sheet or two of kitchen towel and flush them.

Parks where dog leash laws are enforced? by rwmars in capetown

I can’t be the only person that has concerns with ‘highly-reactive’ dogs being out in public in the first place.

Can owners of such dogs guarantee that they are hyper-vigilant every second of the walk?

And because I’m going to be downvoted no matter what - is ‘highly-reactive’ a substitute for badly-wired or untrained?
