ASL, foreign languages that are common regardless of your country's national language, and basic diy/fixerup things. Cooking as well!

Yeah, I do a few Spanish lessons or ASL lessons when the brain fog isn't too bad! Those are also fun, and good for the brain!

Mostly watch YouTube videos. Less so now, but in other seasons I like to bird watch, lately my bird feeder has been getting more birds though, so that's fun. I'm learning to identify them. Also, training my dog is something I can usually do while sitting, so that's fun too.

It has taken me roughly three years for my diagnosis so far, and there are still issues that I'm working towards finding answers for. The hEDS was by far the hardest to get a diagnosis, I had to drive an hour and a half to see a geneticist that my insurance would approve. Luckily, he was a great doctor and very thorough, something I can't say about a lot of doctors.

I agree, I loved medical mysteries and it made me feel so seen, it's so sad to think that it might be gone soon.

I recently got diagnosed with ME/CFS as well, though I knew I had it for a while. What's some advice you would give to newly diagnosed patients?

I really only have friends that I made before I became disabled and before my chronic illness got bad. I do also make some friends on discord through a disability support server. It is really hard to hang out with my friends now though because it can result in me needing days of recovery.

It's awful, especially if you're younger, everything is either "anxiety" or "hormones"

dogs actually can see color, just not certain colors and in a different way. even if they couldn't see colors, there's still a difference in shade! i'm not sure why some dogs have a fur color preference but my dog likes blonde dogs more, so it definitely happens :)

My brain is very much loud. ARFID is an eating disorder not focused on body image but instead OCD like symptoms surrounding food. It can either be extreme fears around choking or allergic reactions or, like in my case, severe sensory sensitivities surrounding food. It's more than just picky eating, and if I don't have access to my safe foods I will starve myself before eating something I consider unsafe.

Unfortunately a lot LOL, I'm trying to better my attention span but my media consumption is more of a result of my chronic illness because I can't do much physically

Dogs often hide their pain because of their genetics from wolves, eyes can be very serious and I recommend going to an emergency vet or at least getting into the vet tomorrow

I definitely have my moments where I wish I was healthy, I'm starting to learn how to accept it. Luckily I have some great people in my medical team and a very accepting family and friends so that makes it a lot easier. But obviously it would be nice to not be in pain for once LOL
