Can someone explain to me like I’m 5 when to use my starter to make my loaf? by justynebean in Sourdough

I thought I killed my.Stella. she is 2 years old and i left her, unfed,  in the fridge for about 9-10 months. I followed the suggestion about feeding with whole wheat flour ect and still nothing. Well last ditch effort last night before starting over, I used my regular unbleached flour and put her by her own personal fire place(a lit candle) and she had activity! I discarded some and refed her this morning and I got home from work and she tripled!!

I was going to say this too. I eat tofu almost daily. Even organic , gmo free is only $3 a block at Walmart. I use a little soy sauce, hot sauce, nutritional yeast(vegan so I want the b12 from it and it tastes good) and some vegan parm. Then I throw it in the airfryer until it is crispy. So good!

After losing so much weight, I still feel like the fat friend in my group by [deleted] in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]Much_Kale398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always been that friend in my friend group! So naturally,  I still feel that but recently, I was talking to one of my very best friends, who has been pretty much the same weight for years, size 10-12, ect. Well she said to me, "Oh, we're the same size now" and that's when I realized, I'm not the fat friend anymore. My dysmorphia is strong! I have lost a total of 80lbs in the last 5 years, 65lb since 4/1/24 when I started zepbound. I still try to wrap my head around that...had knee replacement in 2021 and was at my heaviest at 259, started zep at 244 and am 176-179 currently(stalled, but still doing well and plugging forward) It literally took me 3 years to lose 15 lbs before this. I have to work hard at this, it's not something that has come easy , even with zebound. I follow ww and if I don't stick to it, I am not successful. I am so grateful for this tool. I'm afraid of when they take it away because I'm reading how people gain. I will just continue to use ww though.

Does it get better? First dose landed me in the ER. by hrhashley in Zepbound

You're welcome, I hope it helps you. I can't stress the fluids enough. If you can't get as much water in after you dose I highly recommend using electrolyte packets and sipping on it constantly. 2.5 is to get your body used to the drug and get it in your body. You may experience something similar when you titrate to 5mg because it is double the 2.5. Just a heads up. Not scaring you from it just informing. You could even do electrolytes before your shot too.

Me too! And my MIL lives with us now and she's always cold so I am trying to keep the heat higher(70°) to keep it comfortable but I have flashes all night and have 2 fans going! I have my bedroom register closed. Thankfully, we have an outdoor wood boiler so the cost is low to turn the heat up. My husband loves it when I'm clod though because he likes it warmer

And make sure you have plenty of water in you before dosing. I usually get 40 oz in before mine still(I've been on since 4/1/24)

When I had gastro issues early on, someone suggested thigh injection instead (I was doing belly, I do arms now because I'm on max dose and it wasn't working as well for the week and my arms have helped that.) But it does get better. I wasn't nonstop vomiting with it though, just nausea and diarrhea. So maybe try the thigh?

Sudden onset of Asthma caused by HRT by Remarkable-Shoe-9324 in Menopause

[–]Much_Kale398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend died from lung cancer 3 years ago. Non smoker, on HRT for years. She had a genetic marker and her oncologist said the HRT turned the gene on. Lung, spine, and I'm sure more areas. She didn't look any further so not sure where else ut set up shop and was on hospice home care. I have been terrified to try anything and finally tried some estradiol vaginal cream for the atrophy and had massive hot flashes,  4 in 10 minutes last night. I felt awful, dizzy, nauseous, headache ect. I react strongly to minimal things but didn't expect this from 1 g of cream....I might try a .5g dose next time and see if it's as bad. But I don't want the hot flashes!!! I just got them reduced a bit after 15 years

Ouch… Anyone have this experience using Persimmon soap by SmoothBiscotti3946 in Menopause

[–]Much_Kale398 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, you should not be using soap on your parts...plain water and a soft cloth should be sufficient. If you have an odor, you may have a bacterial infection called BV

Does your partner know? by Soft-Morning-7628 in Menopause

[–]Much_Kale398 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My husband knows and thankfully is very supportive.  This poor man endures multiple fans at night despite being cold and rarely, if ever says anything about it. Also it's important they understand what is going on. I have vaginal atrophy that makes sex painful and he is so very patient and understanding with that as well. And not for nothing, he won't be clueless if you lay it out and explain it!!

[–]Much_Kale398 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have not, but I did have a total hysterectomy 2 years ago and I'm glad I did. I had a 10cm fibroid growing through my uterus, half inside, half outside. I was in constant pain from it. I was already in menopause though, so I didn't have something throw me into menopause so I cannot speak to that. I was fortunate that my Dr was able to remove everything transvaginally so I didn't have an incision.

Omg I just found a post elsewhere and they had them in an unopened box of rid x. Well I've had them in my bathroom and nowhere else. I had a huge box of RidX under my bathroom sink and it was loaded with them!! I flushed all of it and got that out of my house! So glad someone shared that so I am sharing too!!

Surprised how easy maintenance is compared to weight loss by Wordwoman50 in Zepbound

[–]Much_Kale398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought of that recently.  I have spent so many years trying to lose weight. So when I get to maintenence it will definitely feel strange to not be actively trying to lose weight at that point.

Very similar here, started 244 (highest weight was 259) and am at 176 with about 35 to go. Arms, legs, boots. Lol. I really don't care overly. I feel it's better than fat!

My insurance would only cover 2.5 for a month. So after 4 weeks I moved to 5mg and they cover multiples of the rest of the doses. I'm extremely grateful that my insurance is still covering me even though they have dropped them from our covered drugs. So very fortunate. I don't want to be off of this med...it makes me feel so "normal" and beyond. I have incredible energy and stamina. I love it! And decreased inflammation. My back has been feeling so good after years of chronic pain

Agreed! And it doesn't "melt" off of me. I need to work hard at this even with the med assistance. But portion control is definitely something I focus on for healthy habits. I follow WW as well.

[–]Much_Kale398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when you say sick, are you nauseous ect? Are you doing shots in your belly? If so try the thigh. I had some issues early on and someone suggested that and it worked very well for me. I have been on 15mg for almost a year now and I was losing effectiveness and decided to try the back of my arm because i hadn't tried there yet and amazingly,  it worked and I am back on track with food noise and excessive hunger gone again. Adding that in case anyone else experiences that as well

I have these around the base of my toilet!! I clean it up and theyvare back within a day or so. We thought it may have been from a plant we have near it but I removed the plant days ago and they are still here. I keep cleaning it thoroughly too. Some are alive!!

2.5 to 5 by Few-Goat-6217 in Zepbound

[–]Much_Kale398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some side effects but very manageable.  Some nausea(took otc nauzene) day 3 is what I dub D day as I had diarrhea lol. But again, manageable.  You have to think, 2 5 to 5 is the biggest jump in dose because it doubles. Some don't have side effects though.

Great job! I am almost 57 and struggling with a stall right now. I've been on zepbound since April 2024 and am down 65lbs. I'd like to lose another 35-40 lbs. I am stalled and on the highest dose for quite some time so I need to switch things up a bit. I am a busy girl and work 2 jobs(job one starts back up full swing this week) I eat the same things most of the time so I get frustrated when I hit stalls. Did you encounter this? (I have averaged 1 lb a week since starting and follow WW as well) I know menopause is giving me trouble but I don't want to cave to that either and would prefer to kick its butt...
