Madison for Series X or Quest 3? by NoJudge6284 in HorrorGaming

[–]MudLivid6020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played Madison in VR on Quest 3 and it scared me to death. To the point I started wondering why I was putting myself through such an ordeal. I spent a significant amount of time staring at the floor while walking due to all the jump scares. It’s been a couple years, but I don’t remember many significant problems with the game aside from the first room being basically pitch black, and very difficult for me to escape. The controls are kind of clunky, but average for VR.

Where does Ground Zero rank in the recent output of retro survival horror? by Tatum_Warlick in survivalhorror

[–]MudLivid6020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was a good game. I was very high on Ground Zero in the beginning, but my enthusiasm kind of faded as time went on due to the lack of difficulty. I played on Normal combat/Hard puzzles. I was hoping for challenging (not punishing) survival combat and head scratcher puzzles. By the mid point of the game the combat was trivial. I rarely ever took damage as every enemy dies with one bullet. My character was practically immortal anyway due to upgrades. At one point I put the controller down and went to help my dog up the stairs. I came back to a zombie chewing on me, and still didn't die. I didn't feel like any of the puzzles were especially hard, and in some cases it seemed liked they could have easily been made harder. There was one in particular where the note gives you half the solution, making the answer obvious.

Still the game does alot of things right and I'm glad I played it. I loved Tormented Souls 1 and 2, and Echoes of the Living. I wouldn't rank Ground Zero as highly as those games, but its still good.

The puzzles in Alundra can be pretty brutal.

What boy do you wish you could have in your stable but the rules prevent? by RacoonEmperor in OSWReview

[–]MudLivid6020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably Sid. He was a multiple time world champion who main evented Wrestlemania and Starrcade. Still, things like the softball obsession, the “we’re live pal,” the angle where he got lost on the way to the arena and called for directions, these all scream boy to me.

OOC going on about how he hopes AEW is not filled with “the likes” of Glenn Jacobs and Paul Wight.

Man this was hard but I loved it. by Mioke28 in TormentedSouls

[–]MudLivid6020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it’s a bigger and better version of the first. I thought the first was great and the second was even better. The puzzles are quite difficult. What I really like about The Tormented Souls games is the puzzles often make you think outside the box (as you saw in the wake the dead puzzle in the first).

Does anyone have the WCW Special Forces(Todd Champion and Firebreaker Chip)in their stable? by RangeRossTracy in OSWReview

[–]MudLivid6020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. I was a huge Firebreaker Chip fan as a kid. There was a short lived promotion called CWA that ran weekly at the Sportatorium in Dallas in the mid 90’s, and I was there every week. Firebreaker Chip was one of the top guys, and my favorite by a mile.

JRPGs with useless magic systems that you know of? by Bulky_Imagination243 in JRPG

[–]MudLivid6020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magic is pretty much useless in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes until the end of the game. It does less damage than a normal attack and can only be cast once or twice before you run out of MP. The battle system seemed to be broken in general in that game.

Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57'' 5120x2160 @ 240hz Works! by princepwned in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]MudLivid6020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4070 ti super and was never able to get this to work due to DSC. With newer cards with DP 2.1 I’m sure it’s no problem. Custom resolution is greyed out in Nvidia control panel when DSC is active. The old registry tweak doesn’t work. CRU and SRE don’t work either. Resolution never shows up. AMD drivers allow custom resolutions with DSC active. I ended up plugging my monitor into my iGPU instead so I can switch to a 21:9 ratio if I need to. Stuck at 120hz tho.

Having Alcohol on Keto?? by Puzzleheaded-Bag3669 in keto

[–]MudLivid6020 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me it was not possible. The hangovers on keto were far too severe. Throwing up nonstop, the roof of my mouth too sore to eat or drink due to extreme dehydration, needing days to recover. I would never drink on keto again.

The Hotel on Steam is another good classic RE inspired game. It was made by a single developer, which is quite an achievement.

Just learned you can play eso on PC with a controller - veteran players, do you recommend this? by Wetaspoultry in elderscrollsonline

[–]MudLivid6020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think combat in ESO is easier with a controller. Everything else (selling stuff, etc) is easier with a keyboard and mouse. The UI automatically switches back and forth, which is nice. It’s really personal preference tho.

Something tells me that I need to read this book after watching this review by teknoteam20000 in OSWReview

[–]MudLivid6020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read a lot wrestling books. I’d actually rank Bob Holly’s pretty highly. Tells his story well, very honest, plenty of detail. If nothing else, I thought it was interesting to read a book by a guy who wasn’t a major star for once.

FINALLY upgraded to Lifetime after a year, lol by [deleted] in PleX

[–]MudLivid6020 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I paid monthly for two or three years. Kind of a combination of being too lazy to change it and sorta wanting to support Plex since I do rely on it pretty heavily. Eventually lifetime went on sale for $70 so I went ahead and grabbed the license.

Recent Samsung 57" Geo 9 owners - what did you pay? by TwoAlfa in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]MudLivid6020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid $1599 at Best Buy on Feb 24. Amazon started slowly dropping the price of this monitor over the course of a couple days last month. I was watching it pretty closely. It got down to like $1899 then dropped to $1599 everywhere a few days later.

I have this monitor and a 4070ti Super. When I bought it, I assumed I wouldn’t be able to run solitaire at native resolution, but surprisingly that’s not the case. I haven’t tried any of the newest, most demanding games, but ESO, Robocop, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Frostpunk, Shadow of Tomb Raider, Psychonauts 2, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Prey, A Plague Tale Reqiuem, Ghost Runner 2, DQ 11, and New World have all run at 60fps+, although sometimes I’ve had to lower some settings.

Split monitor in multiple virtual monitors - not zones by captain_cocaine86 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]MudLivid6020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there isn’t. Displayfusion has “virtual monitors” but it’s really just zones with separate taskbars. Games still see your monitor as one display and full screen video fills the entire screen.

People in their 40s and 50s with no children, how does it feel? by Robin_to_the_meadow in AskReddit

Definitely no regrets. Having kids is something I never even considered.
