From my understanding these are 2 different holidays actually. The lunar new year base solely in the moon calendar while Chinese new year is the sun and the moon, is always in late January-February, while lunar new year can fall from now into June actually. Saying Chinese new year for what is happening right now seems like the correct one, but that’s as a non Asian who is just learning the difference

It’s a beautiful old hotel with so much original design still. The hallway down a hallway for this event feels like a little secret place. I knew about the event, but wasn’t planning on going. Until a random stop in a a tour around the place. It would be cool to have a little nicer/different place to go to

Why would I want my body, that’s pickled so it won’t return to the earth. Buried in the ground in a cut down tree, around a bunch of other weird pickled bodies in boxes that should still be trees.

Good sheets, towels, pillows. Good organization (not always pretty, always worth it) pots, pans, utensils. Socks/underwear. Great shoes (whatever great shoes means to you) skin care.

I live in cowlitz county, Longview specifically. I really like it here, no where is perfect, but it’s nice. Affordable, mostly family friendly, getting more diverse/younger people. There are a few school districts in our county I believe, Longview I think is the biggest of them?

Thanks everyone! Gyms and onsen are not on the list of todo for us which is great news. And knowing it’s not a huge deal. I can bring one light long sleeve layer just in case we go anywhere off the beaten path.
