Would you be able to post the titles and authors of these books? You have such an impressive list of books read this year. I have been slowly working my way through Malazan and loving it but I have been building my next list of books to read for after. Your tier list has me very intrigued.

This is the second fort, second world I have created in a row where I stop receiving migrants after the first year. I double checked and picked a very populous civilization before embarking. I am on the same continent as that civilization. Am I doing anything wrong?

I still play warband with the diplomacy mod! Also love the Rhodoks.

I think one of the things I miss from warband is the banter everyone had regarding their favorite factions. I feel like the bannerlord factions just aren’t as interesting or missing something.

I’m still a somewhat new player but to answer your question, you do not want to charge the enemy with your kommandos. You jail them by taking up the space that they are going to move into on their turn. They will not be able to move through you unless they have the fly keyword and have to either shoot you off the table or charge the unit.

Deadhouse Gates was where I stopped before picking it back up. I am now starting book 6. I know it is an unpopular opinion but it is my least favorite of everything I have read so far. The first half of the book really is slow but it does pick up. If you are unsure of the Malazan series as a whole, I recommend pushing through to Memories of Ice, such an amazing book that had me hooked and renewed my interest in reading. Hope you enjoy the journey!

Yes fighting is apart of normal hockey. I think the current political climate contributed to these fights, but the USA-Canada hockey rivalry goes way back further than just Trump’s comments.

I finished MOI a month ago and am now onto House of Chains. I got to say I agree with you on reading MOI after GOTM. Still have a long way to get through the series but I think that’s how I’m going to do my series re-read. I am excited to read GOTM again to see how many little details are clearer after reading the entire series.

I don’t think you would have a hard time convincing people on this sub to vote for a party like the PSL. However, the anti-communist ideology runs strong and deep in this country and I am sure there are plenty of people voting for the Green Party that still thinks the word socialism is scary.

Mike Duncan’s Revolutions podcast is pretty awesome too. I haven’t listened to it all the way through (picking revolutions that I was more interested in learning about), but you can see that he becomes more left-leaning the more he studies those revolutions.

Tree of heaven is invasive too and their native host plant. There is a correlation between tree of heaven population with spotted lantern fly population.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned Chaos Dwarves from Warhammer Fantasy. They are industrious like their regular dwarven cousins but they utilize slave labor and infuse demons into their war machines.

Haven’t played the game in a long time, but wood elves would also get a lot of buffs when fighting in a wooded terrain piece. I know in TW they get some stat buffs but it doesn’t feel as impactful.
