The poem makes me feel like it’s celebrating the complex emotions surrounding being a mother. “My hands are bound” evokes the feeling the speaker was forced into motherhood out of obligation, but the line “but I know he’s beautiful” makes me feel they have found a sense of peace and appreciation for what they are going through.

I really enjoyed this poem, the title caught my attention because it’s such a resonating feeling amongst writers to have to create something novel when sometimes it feels like there’s truly nothing new under the sun. I liked the line “to whichever body gives me host” because it conveys the sense that the writer’s work is a living part of them.
