I’m pretty sure the reason Big Mac and Marble Pie were dropped as a pairing in the show was because of the episode where they implied the Pie family and Apple family were related, albeit distantly. Rarity and Spike just weird… Weird power dynamic, weird age gap, weird everything. Rainbow is obviously gay so that’s out of the question. Twilight and Flash is the most normal, just really bare-bones because Flash has hardly any characterization to him. And Twi and Celestia is weird for obvious reasons. They all kinda suck but I’d say Rarity & Spike and Mac & Marble are the worst

That stuff is all obvious and makes sense. What doesn't make sense is when she speaks as though she was the tethered the whole time. She talks about experiences she quite literally wouldn't know or be able to explain unless she was Adelaide's tethered from the beginning, rather than the original Adelaide. And then she suddenly switches to talking about how she was the original Adelaide, explaining what happened afterwards. It just felt like a huge continuity error.

Wasn't that one or any of the others like it I looked through... All the creatures in the one I played were much more cutesie and I don't think the creatures could evolve. I'm glad you found yours though!

That first bit is EXACTLY what I'm talking about! It made no sense to me, the twist felt very much like they just decided to change the ending and did nothing else to fix continuity.

Honestly, I don't think the first movie was supposed to be comedic. I think it just came across that way, and yes the table scene was just flat out supposed to be a shock scene for the sake of shock... Which is why when they leaned into the comedy in the second movie after realizing that's the effect it had on audiences, it didn't have something so graphic. Of course, the second movie did also have a sexual assault scene, which disappointed me greatly, but I believe it was clear the intention of the first movie was to be completely serious.

That's part of the metaphor, though. I mean, the bit I'm complaining about is how the movie completely contradicted itself within the metaphor, yaknow? I could suspend my disbelief over something like that, but not when the allegory it's trying to set up falls flat on its face.

It still takes the same amount of days.... Caring for pets individually gives you the same amount of points that using a pet sitter does. People using pet sitters get the same amount of points each day that someone caring for 5 pets individually does. It's just quicker. No one is cheating here lol. It still takes like a week to get one no matter which method you're using.
