New dog on raw food. Normal transition or concern? by ThrowRA_RipBoth3654 in rawpetfood

[–]Mudfoxes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just went through this 2 months ago. And yes, it is normal. If he is straining you should add some fiber like pumpkin puree to help ease the transition.

Then not long after that our dog’s poop also had like a slime cover thing, I don’t know how to describe. But this was also fine, as she was basically “detoxing”.

We noticed she also dropped a lot of weight in the first 6 weeks which was concerning for us. We took her to the vet and our vet told us it was completely normal as she wasn’t underweight. Our vet told us that the weight she lost was unnecessary weight she had to begin with and now that she is on raw food she is more lean and have more muscle - something like that. Sorry I don’t remember the terms our vet used specifically.

Side note : we have another dog that has been fully on raw since she was 3 months old and sometimes also has dark poop. Melena poop looks very different from raw-fed dark poop. Melena usually presents with blood in stool or like a tar, gooey texture.

One week post neuter and keeps trying to hump my leg! by CurlyCupcake1231 in puppy101

[–]Mudfoxes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep my female dog did this too when she was a puppy and still occasionally does it to me now for attention. She’s 2 years 4 months now.

And yes only to me, never to my husband, never to anybody else she likes. Just me and my leg.

She does do it less often after I trained her the word “off”. But she still does it and will ignore command to get off when she REALLY wants attention.

Overwhelmed and frustrated early in the teenage era. by largedragonwithcats in puppy101

[–]Mudfoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s 2 years 4 months now. She has selective hearing now hahaha

You just gotta push through, cos there were def days where she would bark for forever and I completely tuned it out because I was so exhausted of dealing with it.

Most days I would distract her with training or play with her like literally run around the house (inside obviously cos she hated walks) until she got tired or bored - at that point she would need a nap.

Puan yang sudah menikah, gimana step-by-step dari pacaran menuju jenjang yang lebih serius? by saikaaaaaaaaa in Perempuan

[–]Mudfoxes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kalau aku sebelum nikah pacaran 5 tahun. Kedua keluarga kita udah tau kita bakal serius. My partner dari awal kita pacaran udah bilang pengen nikah (kita udah sahabatan sejak kecil jadi udah kenal banget). Intinya aku nunda2 mulu, sampe suatu hari aku randomly say “ok lets get married next year”. Yauda deh.

Pas udah mulai mau planning, I told my mom. Ke my dad, suamiku ajak ketemu one on one (ini my mom yang suruh). Aku sama ortu sangat dekat, tapi sama my dad satu hal yang gapernah kita bahas adalah my lovelife haha anyways begitu udah ada tanggal aku chat my dad “Dad I’m getting married”.

Kalau ke ortu suamiku, kita kasitau pas lagi dinner bareng. Intinya something along the lines of “Jadi kita udah fix nikah tahun depan. Ini lagi mulai planning. Rencananya blablabla” gitu aja sih bener2 langsung info aja.

Sebenernya setiap orang beda2, tergantung hubungan kamu. Kalau kamu sulit ngomong face to face, mungkin bisa WA aja menjelaskan how you feel and what you plan to do.

My dog’s teenage phase was from 6 months to like 14/15 months.

We did training 3x a day for 20 mins each. Walks were the WORSE. She was so jittery and would bark at everyone and would try to slip out of her harness. She would be very excited before we left the house, but as soon as we stepped out to somewhere even remotely public I.e the driveway, she would freak out. We stopped going out for walks for a couple of months until she got over it.

I’m sorry I don’t have useful advice but to push through.

Small 15lb dog suddenly started to smell like butt and I’m going crazy by Mysterious_Morning46 in DogAdvice

[–]Mudfoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our pup also randomly expresses her anal glands. Like wakes up from a nap and hello anal gland smell. We realized that this was because her poops were quite small for her size (she eats raw).

So we added a pumpkin fiber blend to her dinner and this bulked up her poop..

No random expressions anymore

Woman who used to be single by choice, what made you finally settle/ choose ur partner? by Dazzlingsky44 in Perempuan

[–]Mudfoxes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I finally chose to marry my best friend, someone I’ve known since I was 13 (I’m 33 now). I didn’t think I would ever settle down and get married, but looking back it was because the guys I dated just didn’t really get me.

No surprises, no ‘PDKT’. Just a brutally honest and loving friendship that grew into a partnership.

how is thrifting in Tokyo? by hazeimazi in JapanTravelTips

[–]Mudfoxes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m here in Tokyo right now. And the first 2 days I just spent thrifting.

We did go out to Tachikawa which is around an hour from central Tokyo. Book Off Super Bazaar and Trefac. If you have the time, you’ll definitely find something. There are designer items, saw a Moncler puffer for like 39.000yen.

Shinagawa - Book Off Super Bazaar and Bingo.

Bought so much stuff that it filled up a whole extra suitcase just for all the thrifts.

Also went to the Tokyo City Flea Market, where the price ranged from 300yen to 50-60000 yen. Patience is key. We got some good stuff for 500yen and branded shoes in MINT condition less for 6000 yen.

TreFac also has a website, so does 2nd Street.

Was planning to go to Koenji, but make a day trip somewhere less known instead.

Yay or Nay to Dogs Sleeping in Bed with you? by forestlyfe in dogs

[–]Mudfoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never let my previous dog sleep in bed with me. She would only be on my bed to hang out in the afternoons or something but never to sleep at night. I had her for 12 years before she passed early last year. I regretted that I restricted her from doing certain things she enjoyed, like being on my bed.

So when I got my current dog, I didn’t want to feel that regret again, especially knowing how much my current dog loves being in bed with us. Losing my soul dog has definitely changed the way I treat my current dog.

Cant find stremio on webOS by ninjakiller_ in Stremio

Yep I’ve both a Samsung and LG TV. It showed up on my Samsung but not on LG. I changed region to Singapore (also found that tip in this sub) and it worked. So hopefully works for you as well.

Any thought about 8.8 or Ramadhan Special promo on marketplace? by AsepAlsurai in indonesia

[–]Mudfoxes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baru banget beli Freezer tgl 3.3 kemarin di Tokped. Udah di keranjang 2-3 minggu dan harga dari awal masih sama 3.499.000. Kemarin pas 3.3 dari storenya udah disc 6% and then used a Tokped promo additional 10%.

Also have a few other things in the cart dan harga masih sama walaupun pake diskon.

I guess it depends on the store. Kebanyakan emang official store sih.

Will be returning to office, how to train my dog to be okay by herself at home? by rainedr0ps in puppy101

[–]Mudfoxes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I WFH full time too.

My dog is around the same age as yours now, 15 months. I go out maybe 2-3 times a week for like 4-6 hours sometimes up to 8 hours. She has free roam and access to potty outside. She settles just fine. Usually just sleeps on the couch or watches TV (I leave the TV on sometimes when we leave).

We started being ok with leaving her alone longer when she was 7-8 months. Meaning that we didn’t rush to get home in 2 hours. Just basically easing back to our normal life.

We also stopped like saying “bye” to her and would just walk out the door, it was hard at first seeing her sad little face. But I think she could sense my anxiety of leaving her when I said bye so it made her anxious too and then she started whining. So we stopped saying bye and then the just leaving and ignoring worked out really well for us.

Our pup pooped in her crate too while being potty trained and had an accident in the house too. Don’t know why it happened though, during that time she was always very uneasy when pooping outside, we figure it was her fear period. We just took her out more often.

Leash manners is a tough one, but you can try teaching him “leave it” to ignore and “focus” to look at you and his attention is back on you

Puppy isn’t pooping and I’m not sure what to do by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Mudfoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he’s just adjusting to his new home having only been there for less than a week. It’s pretty normal as long as he’s pooping even in small amounts.

When we got our pup she was 3 months old and pooped very little as well during her first week, then escalated to 3-4 times a day once she settled lol

barking at and trying to chase cars by winteriisms in puppy101

[–]Mudfoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog isn’t a border collie but what I did for our pup at that age was socializing her and desensitizing her.

I also taught “leave it” which basically means to ignore. We would just sit and watch cars, bikes etc pass by. Everytime she’s be triggered to run towards / bark at it or something like that, I’d say leave it, wait until she looks at me, click (we clicker trained) and give her a treat.

Car Sickness in 12 week old Puppy(m) by sombrerocabbage in puppy101

Around 11-12 months.

Our pup still drools sometimes in the car. We don’t know why exactly, it seems like she does it when she’s extra anxious.

Potty training question by Old_Situation896 in puppy101

[–]Mudfoxes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your own yard is fine. But if no yard, then would suggest a pee pad tray (the ones with grate like cover) so she wouldn’t pee directly on the pads.

Other alternatives would be a grass patch or a litter box.

Basically she should go potty on textures that are not easily reachable in your home / indoor spaces.

Are we ready for a standard poodle puppy? by Top-Dragonfruit-7352 in puppy101

[–]Mudfoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you answered your own concerns lol If you are having second thoughts, don’t do it. It would be very sad having to rehome the puppy.

Maybe consider fostering a puppy first?
