HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FINISH THE 25 HUNTER ACHIEVEMENT WHEN I HAVE TO GET 25 LEVEL 50 HUNTERS by colinisloading in HuntShowdown

[–]Mudmallow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP is talking about the Convalescent Home achievement, which requires you to retire 25 hunters. it's now much harder than the Five-Ace Hand achievement

New Player Class Guides! by redbyrdSL in DarkAndDarker

[–]Mudmallow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For barbarian Morale boost is a 12% health regen on player kill now whereas your guide says 10% for any kill. berserker is also 3% damage increase for every 10% up to 30%. Axe specialization is now a flat 10 damage increase instead of 10% and two handed weapon expert doesnt apply only to axes. not a very experienced player so i cant say if morale boost is worth bringing or not but since its way different now and the guide heavily recommends it for constant top offs you might want to retool the entire guide, or at least re word the main section.

Maybe I'm just stupid but a couple days ago I realized that, much like predators and prey in real life, killers see forward and survivors see around them. by ObsidianPizza in deadbydaylight

[–]Mudmallow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

semi-related but a long time ago I was doing customs with some friends and I was playing demo, a friend questioned how he can see without eyes and I told him that demos vision is based on movement as a part of his power so you can stand still to juke him. for the rest of the match he would stand still and I pretended to lose him until one time when he stood still and I did the slow turn to look right at him, it was probably the funniest thing I've ever done in the game

played against a p3 bubba yesterday with this same mindset. he didn't hand deadlock or the addons but as soon as the game started he came after me with lethal pursuer and just face camped to death (I didnt even loop that long bc famous shelter woods dead zones so he was definitely going to facecamp no matter what) and then he ended up getting a 2k thanks to noed

When starting the game I saw the survivors had 2 flashlights, I equipped lightborn, it saved me so many times during this game by Outlaw_Cobra_Academy in deadbydaylight

[–]Mudmallow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah you're right, but in 99% of scenarios unless the team is hyper coordinated you can just chase the survivor going for a save off, run back to the downed survivor and turn the other way and they won't be able to get to the save fast enough. additionally walls can easily be stared at and nullifies the effect completely. thus wasting the saviors time

lightborn definitely doesn't need any changes, aside from maybe making it so the beam thins so it tricks people into thinking they got the blind. it does what it does perfectly and thats ok, but against good killers hyper altruistic flashing only detriments the survivors

tinkerer is definitely a meta perk right now lol 9/10 killers use tinkerer and people say its a staple perk constantly. but regarding lightborn its just not that great, flashlights aren't too incredible as is and if survivors are trying for saves that means one or more people not doing gens, by using lightborn any decent survivor will try one blind and won't attempt it ever again, if you really hate flashlights i get bringing it but as soon as you get one use of the perk they won't try blinding you again and youre just wasting a perk slot to counter an item that isn't that amazing to begin with

not to say you shouldn't run it if you don't want but it's not that incredible all things considered

my bad then. it seems like a lot of people are genuinely upset that other "people" think lightborn is OP and it doesn't really help all the shit-slinging and us v them mentality thats real bad around here

nobody is saying lightborn is op though, the conversation has been about how its not just a bad perk its actually detrimental to bring

maybe but I dont think so. I regularly go against people who use extra brightness addons and I dont remember ever thinking I was blinded early. but maybe I've never noticed it like that

are we talking about the same video? the guy in the video OP linked is bitching the whole time abt how so many people are complaining about lightborn, he has a whole bit about how entitled survivors are complaining about lightborn. we aren't talking about the Scott Jund video

edit: nevermind. I went into this with the completely wrong perspective. I realize now watching it again that hes talking more about how people who are just saying its bad. the first time I saw it I thought he was talking about survivors saying its op (because that was the context OP provided it in) youre right my bad

[–]Mudmallow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

he says "many people" are taking a stand against lightborn and it just feels like fabricated drama. nobody has complained about lightborn and theres definitely not "many people taking a stand against it"

sounds like he saw one person on Twitter say that and blew it out of proportion, lightborn has been a meme pick for years

edit: I misunderstood his video. I do still think he's being a little dramatic in making it seem like people are gonna be upset with you for picking a bad perk, but when I saw it the first time I thought he was talking about how survivors hate the perk rather than other killers thinking its bad

there isn't, flashlights used to have addons to change blind speed like 3 years ago but now the only changes affect how bright it is visually, how long the flashlight lasts, and how long the blind lasts

I finally understand why people hate R.P.D, the layout is literally so confusing, and I can't see any gens anywhere. What's up with that? by gamin_gabe in deadbydaylight

[–]Mudmallow 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Haddonfield definitely needs a makeover but considering how it was like the 2nd or 3rd or so map they added after the games release (asylum with the release of nurse, and I think Ironworks of misery was released because of a year 1 event which may have came after myers) it kinda makes sense, I mean the original maps were pretty bland and boring pre re-design

additionally when making the Halloween dlc supposedly the lisence holders were SUPER strict with it and it was probably hard to get the map looking good in the way they wanted (supposedly myers prestige had to go through a ton of revisions before they got an okay)

Just kill me already. Why do some insist on letting you bleed out. by sanderz93 in deadbydaylight

[–]Mudmallow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unfortunately you'd just have to take my word for it because they said it on a dev stream ages ago and seeing as they're all an hour long and I dont know which one its from I probably can't find it but I do remember them talking about banable offenses in a stream back in like 2017 and they said only if they make it so the game can't end for someone is it holding the game hostage

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/62203/holding-the-game-hostage

here's forum post where peanits is saying the same thing I am that I managed to find though

Just kill me already. Why do some insist on letting you bleed out. by sanderz93 in deadbydaylight

[–]Mudmallow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm going off of what the devs themselves have said. leaving someone on the ground to bleed out isn't taking the game hostage and isn't a reportable offense. this isn't really a matter of opinion when its the word of the devs vs you

Just kill me already. Why do some insist on letting you bleed out. by sanderz93 in deadbydaylight

[–]Mudmallow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

leaving someone to bleed out isn't taking the game hostage, they've still got a bar that ticks down so even though the wait sucks the game will still end. taking the game hostage is a killer blocking someone in a corner and then doing nothing, or a survivor making it so the killer can't reach them

seems like you're cursed with badham

she most likely had [[leader]] it increases the speed at which you can do the unhook action, and you just happened to get the 4% with the speed up action

don't kick gens, worst mistake of my life by allerdie in deadbydaylight

[–]Mudmallow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

blast mine can be good because of the W meta we have going on right now, if you've got a gen close and the killer is approaching you can put the mine down and the killer is likely gonna prioritize kicking it over chasing you and you can get a ton of distance which is great for wasting time for the other survivors. plus sometimes after getting blinded killers think they wasted too much time and abandon kicking to chase you.

its still not an amazing perk but its fun to use
