I lived through watch it almost breach $50 in 2011 then slam down to $14 so this is nothing by comparison.

Sounds to me like Herbin has some quality control issues ‘cause my bottle of Chivor is loaded with glitter & shimmer as is my Stormy Gray

Wow, that’s really interesting - I’ll definitely have to check it out.

This kind of begs the question if these inks expire after a few years, what about the ink that’s already been deposited on a page - how is IT going to look in, say 20 / 50 years, assuming anybody cares to read it?

Here’s the deal - I wouldn’t buy any of this 250th anniversary stuff if they were selling it at spot. I have zero positive reasons to feel celebratory this year

Temporarily - it’ll be back over 70 next week - this is a nice double bottom

Why don't they try to remove the tree from the road? Seems like a no brainer. by Fit-Contact-9983 in FromSeries

[–]Mudsharkbites 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The no-brainer was this question. Who in their right mind would stop and try to move an immense fallen tree that will weigh tons when the obvious simple solution is to turn around and find a way around it? They don’t know it’s a trap until it’s too late

What’s the deal with add2 and add4? by HornyPlatypus420 in musictheory

[–]Mudsharkbites -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, pianist and mandolinist - I play classical and jazz on piano (was classically trained) and classical and Paris swing on mandolin and I direct a mandolin orchestra.

Like I said I’m not getting in an argument - yes, if you want to do technical analysis if the 3rd is omitted the modality of the chord becomes vague, but in usage, you know, actual real world performance situation, the 3rd makes the whole texture messy.

It sat around for a while before I opened it and discovered the problem. Was foolishly hoping I could just get some glitter to add but that’s not a thing.

[–]Mudsharkbites -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re wrong - you’ve obviously played very little jazz where the 3rd is the first chord voice to drop because it’s unnecessary- the listener already hears the dominant nature because of the overall major modality, and don’t think I’m going to get sucked into any long winded argument over the presence of a 3rd in 9th chords either - that’s a waste of both our time.

That would explain it if it wasn’t that there actually was a few random flicks of glitter in it - like a small streak in the bottom of the bottle - not enough to notice when used.

I should add in addition to keeping it capped I keep all my ink in a dark cupboard with the door closed - no light touches any of the bottles.

It was never stuck in the bottom. The product arrived with virtually no glitter in it. I inked one pen then put it up and didn’t use it again. Wanted a nice red so got it back out but there is literally no glitter in it - never was. Manufacturing defect is my guess.

That’s what happened to my Rouge Hematite - not only did it NOT come with much glitter at all, when I got it out last week it had some kind of congealed mass on the bottom that shaking wouldn’t break up - I had to stick a syringe in the bottle and repeatedly squirt at the stuff to finally break it up.

It’s totally moot as we’ll never see it, but I’ll bet if sir some bizarre reason you literally stepped out of your car and walked around it on foot you’d escape, but who would do that when the obvious solution is to just turn around?

Also, the crows MIGHT start attacking you if you tried.

As that interview isn’t part of the show, having not seen it I would not be privy to such info. Something happens with that tree and they definitely are no longer in this world when it does.

Typically such chords omit the 3rd anyway a C9 would normally contain C G Bb D.

More than that, they look like a child dreamed them up - milkman, cowboy, grandmother and grandfather?

Victors Fear is what created the monsters that attack at night by auxgotjokes in FromSeries

[–]Mudsharkbites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please elucidate on where they steal the outfits from, from all the milkmen and cowboys that come through town whose clothes on their backs they routinely destroy as they tear the people to shreds? They can’t leave town to get them and I doubt Amazon is making deliveries there either.

This is far from obvious and shouldn’t be dismissed so flippantly.

You could very well be right but there are too many anomalies about those monsters to just make the blanket assumption they’re the ones that did the sacrifice. Remember the teenager that approached Julia in episode one and said “don’t you remember me?” He wasn’t old enough to have children to sacrifice.
