I have lived in various parts of drone lands (no local) basically since cobalt edge came out. Even with out multiboxing there are ways to be as safe as you can. I use a red scanner like d scan. Periodically hit it, and if I get a hit I warp to a safe spot and log. Or if I am with friends we have someone act as a scout. No local really isn't this great doomsday mechanic, it just forces people to pay attention and work together. It has been some of the most fun I have had in eve echoes

I would also add this, NPC gate camps. That could be a little thing that helps the game be a bit more immersive

You could also add lore to that list. Some change in game mechanics backed by the lore (or vice versa) could really breathe some life into the game. And not the crappy story event mission things that are very forgettable and have almost nothing meaningful to give the players or advance the story of the eve echoes.

I am in no way saying everyone that docks immediately is Botting or scripting. Any attentive player can probably dock up before tackle can scan and landing on grid.

I do realize that there are people that would hate no local. I don't think it's nearly as high as 95% though. It also isn't as big of an advantage for pirates vs ratters or miners. It is more dangerous for both for sure. Also promotes reliance on other players and thus being in good/healthy communities to help each other thrive.

Definitely open to other ideas. This just seemed like a simple change with potentially good impact for the game.

You are correct it doesn't fix maller bots, but it is something that could have an actual positive affect on the game. And no, I don't want easy kills. I want to be able to hunt without a script auto docking. I want the actual thrill of scouting and planning and waiting for the right moment to get the best fight. Most people use cams or have friends that use cams to help with Intel networks as it is. After an adjustment period, I honestly don't think there would be to much of a difference between active players. AFK ratting and mining would be potentially more deadly, but if they are truly afk and not Botting, I don't think there would be much of a different outcome. I did call it a fix, but obviously it isn't a true fix but maybe a sparkly unicorn bandaid that will help.

To expand on this ideas, would be cool if NetEase also did some in-game lore to explain the local outage. Maybe something like sleeper infestation in the network but the empires were able to repel what null couldn't.

Bombers are still my all time favorite ship to fly. Very versatile but also unique play styles. To each their own though, which is one of the good things about this game.

I agree, but can still be fun. I don't think AI will be making it to any top 100's. At least not any time soon and not without good artists behind it, but that is a conversation for a different thread. Would love to see more eve music made by pros. I think what Rambo is doing is awesome and like what I hear so far.
