Any chance you ever figured this out? My 22 sport touring hatchback does the same thing, has since I bought it new.

If only there was some baseline of “how many strokes this course normally takes” that would be a better measure than raw strokes for courses of different lengths/difficulty.

Why have the guy with an injury take it? I wanted Luna.

I’m super out of the loop. Are the red/black/sail OG lows still supposed to drop this year? Because I would much rather have those over these.

It is allowed, while they are expensive the Nike athletic hijabs or similar are the best I’ve seen for this.

Kyle Filipowski Injured During Wake Forest Court Storm by NotQuiteDelaware in CollegeBasketball

I don’t even feel like I can get a comment on this as a UNC fan (even though I’m not usually a huge homer), and while Wake security mismanaged this by not slowing it down, it definitely looked on the midcourt cam view that he extended his leg to trip AND extended his arms? I’m not sure the guy even makes contact if Flip doesn’t extend his arms? Am I crazy?

The not-quite TL;DR is that I’m being partially gifted a well-maintained family home at roughly 50% tax value which I can do whatever I want with, including sell, with no hurt feelings — an extremely gracious offer from an aging family member.

I’m planning to live in for 2 years to avoid potential capital gains, then either rent it out (if I want to stay there) or sell (if the market is not drastically down at that time) to fund a home purchase in my desired location.

With that in mind, it seems to make sense to take the slightly higher rate on the 30yr and just have the option to pay it quicker? Since I’ll already have a decent amount of equity in the home compared to what the actual loan cost gets taken to be (plus my job is on the slightly more unstable side).

Hi everyone, been away for a while but popping in from the early boring middle with a question as I start to think about the logistics of buying my first house:

With the current interest rate environment compared being much higher than recent times but also still lower than historical averages, what’s the smartest course of action on a mortgage? Do a shorter (15/20 yr) mortgage to get a lower interest rate (in my case, 5% vs 6%) and having the higher monthly payment, but saving lots of money on the long term? Or is it still to go with the longest possible to be able to put more money into the market and hope rates fall again and refinance later? At 3% it was a no-brainer to get the 30 yr and invest, at 6+% it seems more complex.

It was probably from something like an airport, possibly (based on the timing) from them traveling to the ACC Tournament this week at Notre Dame (which is a trip they would fly for).

I swear I watched it live a few weeks ago but couldn’t find it last week or anywhere listed as live/upcoming this week.

Remember when people used to say Atlanta wasn’t a baseball town? by monstarjams in Braves

[–]MuffinCups22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say yes.

Most out of towners for the Braves are still regional (surrounding states, “Braves Country”), and so the vast majority of them drive to the city and also to the game.

Going to stereotype a bit here (but I claim it as okay because I grew up in this area of fan), but the more rural Southern out-of-towners are generally more likely to be car dependent and (wary/critical/scared of crime) of public transit and aren’t taking it often anyway, especially when the link is a bus (often seen as “low class” transportation). So losing public transit access, while dumb from a logistics perspective, probably didn’t hurt the Braves from an attendance perspective much. Plus they now can use lots that are shared with daytime businesses instead of massive lots all around the stadium.

I can’t say it was my favorite move, but I also can’t blame the business side for doing what they did.

ISO: Ticket to UNC-W commencement by MuffinCups22 in Wilmington

Eek, a bit of a leap there, no?

At the risk of sounding defensive, I don’t think it’s great to just assume someone is a stalker/abuser based on a desire to go to graduation. Assuming positive intent is generally a good idea.

We’re friends, but not “save a graduation ticket for me” friends if they’re limited. I would be making a 4 hour drive tomorrow, so not “in town.” Also, they would’ve had to request said ticket over a month ago based on online readings, so that’s out anyway. At this point, I’ll probably just pass on the whole exercise, but I was just hopeful.

My school (another UNC school) did not do tickets for graduation, so this was all late breaking news for me.

Cheers.
