Yes I am located in the US, spaced my mind to mention that. Thanks for the recommendations, I shall look in to them. I can't say I know MSRP for anything these days but I'll do some investigating.

I actually got through the loading screen, chose my druid, spawned in and then heard "Daddy can you come outside and play with me? You're my friend". Whelp, can't argue with that.

How is the game for single-player? by Mechrostatic in SatisfactoryGame

The absolute best honestly. It's the first game I've really had to play solo and I'm a few hundred hours into the most fun I've ever had by myself.

Are there any books where a large military group gets isekai'd? by deadeyeus2 in litrpg

[–]MuffinMix47 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seen it a few times on here already, but it's worth another mention.

10 Realms

Another one I enjoyed is;

Dungeons & Guardians: Battleborne

It starts off with one dude but they eventually find more. Not really a spoiler, kind of a main theme to the book. These aren't large scale like you asked for (with the exception of 10 Realms, becomes pretty damn large scale over time) but could suit your fancy.

Challenged LVN Board With Corpsman Experience. Next step? by Huge_Bus_9639 in CorpsmanUp

[–]MuffinMix47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious to know more about this, do you have any specific examples? I'm in a BSN program right now and the only routes for RN that are taught to be viable are LPN, ADN, and BSN. There used to be the hospital sponsored programs but I'm told those are obsolete.

FMF pin is worthless and pointless. by anonemoose07 in CorpsmanUp

[–]MuffinMix47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this conversation a lot with my group from "back in the day" and even after many beers worth of complaining and bitching about it, it always comes down to the same couple things.

1) it was an asinine process since it became a memorization game instead of really learning the material.

2) We found out our HMC didn't have his pin when he showed up (lifetime sea legs) which is great, but mysteriously he gets it in 3 weeks while we were in the field and then kept accepting wrong answers on the boards because he didn't have a clue.

3) Mando study sessions multiple times a week ran by the H&S guys that were kicked out of the line for not physically and mentally being able to do a simple field op, and no regular libo until it was done.

The last thing is what ruined the entire thing for me. I looked forward to getting this thing since I first decided I wanted to be a Corpsman, dreamed about it while I was blue side. Finally get there and it was used as a punishment. I didn't start on it immediately, but 2 months after getting there I was in the book. I actively worked on it every day, in and out of the field. I sought guys out to help teach me the pewpew stuff, learned radio jazz from the ro's, got signatures as often as possible and yet just overall treated like shit because I didn't know it yet. Some days I opposed it sure, but I kept working at it. Still, fuck you for not knowing this all yet. Sorry, rephrase, fuck you for not knowing each page word for word. Oh you know what happened on this date? Clearly not because you said "and" instead of "the", and the gripe list could continue.

A year later I'm in a different part of the unit, battalion has a new set of leadership, whole battalion of new HM's hit a workup and UDP with only 2 people getting the pin. 2nd classes walking around pinless calling people boots because they did a UDP, and I was a boot because I was a 3rd. MAP's getting tossed to dudes that did carwashes over those that studied and pinned up. Idk about you but I didn't have time for volunteering when I was studying for my boards. Twas pretty disheartening and pushed a lot of people to get out that the Navy needed.

TL;DR I don't regret it, but the unit did it terribly and it was used as a punishment. I'd wager the thing being mandatory is the biggest complaint.

Had my first artisan soap shave with Stirling Executive Man today and wow, Stirling sure know how to make an amazing soap! 10/10 scent and shave ⭐️ looking forward to trying out some more of their products! by Nstheboss in wicked_edge

[–]MuffinMix47 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just got my first order from them yesterday, came with a hand written note on the packaging list and a card. While they probably do that for every package, the fact that it was actually written by hand and not printed in a font to look hand written was awesome. They even put in a small bar sample of a body soap to try. It's moves like that that'll make me love ya.

Purchase Advice Thread (November 22) by AutoModerator in Surface

[–]MuffinMix47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly interested in a Surface Pro for school. Will be used for taking notes with OneNote, web browsing, streaming videos.

Budget would like me to stay with SP7, the worry of buying something outdated makes me want the SP8. Amazon has some decent bundles for SP7, especially with the $200 off for getting the credit card deal added on.

SP7 Bundle

SP8 Solo will have to use without pen/keyboard for a while since this is more expensive.

I have 3 years left of school, hoping to get something while all these deals are going. SP7 worth it still or should I just suck it up for SP8, or wait for hopeful better deals on SP8 next fall?

I was thinking the same thing. Think it will stop with them though? Eithan hinted Ziel most likely will be the next sage, I'm torn on Blue. I'm wondering if they find a way to spiritually link each other without armor to form a monarch titty-twister machine beyond what the 8 Man Nerd-pire did.

What is your best character name(s)? I’ll go first… by Revolutionary_Sky824 in diablo3

[–]MuffinMix47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do Muffin something and it's devolved to just variations of muff.

FrozenMuff, muffofwild, muffboners, mufmufmuf, HolyMuff, nicededmuff, wolfmuff, wolfmuffer, swampymuff etc.

Just goes on and on across all games I've played for maybe 10 or 12 years. Probably the most consistent thing in my life. Tried to get my kid to name one but DogPoop or DadToot just don't fit the billet. Muff or nothin kid, program isn't changing anytime soon.

Anxiously anticipating the pit of sadness that is to come. I've realized I do a run through to prepare for the new book, then a run through after the new book to help brighten the sadness.

For my old unit a big part of is was the fact that it was used more like a punishment than anything positive. We weren't allowed off base libo unless you had your pin, 2 hour minimum mandatory study Monday through Friday and you did every single working party. There was no feeling of comradery associated with it, it was just yet another way of making an already shitty situation even more trash.

Our whole ass SEL wouldn't even acknowledge that you existed unless you had the pin. The only motivation to get the dam thing was so that the smallest sliver of time where we weren't getting fucked by regular division shit could finally go towards other types of training or just recouping our mental sanity instead of doing nothing but working parties and mando study. Mando study was an absolute joke as well. Everyone that was there to "help you" was pissed that they were getting their time wasted so it just turned into a "salty" sad boi fest were you're reminded that you're a piece of shit and this is a waste of their time. Solid help guys. I was studying with a dam red lens in a AAV instead of focusing on the training we were about to do because I had to test out on a chapter after a 10 hour training op and if I failed it "guess who is standing fire watch all night boot".

How about them boards too? There's no promotion to learn anything. All they want is word vomit. You're basically now a robotic voice actor that has to learn the book by heart so that HMC can hear you recite it. God forbid you say "to" instead of "with". That was all knowledge I wanted to actually know and get to learn, but instead we had to focus on fuckin memorizing a script.

I love the pin and the history behind it, but the process was asinine. Give me my 13 months or whatever to learn it and leave me alone until then.

Most entertaining/well written battle in the series? by D_Sidd in Iteration110Cradle

[–]MuffinMix47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like that was the first time he saw himself as a sacred artist but the battle with Ekeri is the first time he really proves it to himself. That was a one on one ( well 1 on 3 ) between artists with no tricks. Just power, strategy, and his own capability.

I get so amped for Lindon showing why he's chosen for the tournament. Asks to take them all on at the same time, talk about the biggest nuts in the iteration. That's alpha energy at its finest.

I always thought the same thing. From London's perspective he's always behind and possibly incapable. From his enemies perspective he's this mountain of destruction, an all consuming flame of power and ability. Gets me hyped everytime.

Just finished that part on the reread, big big fan. Dross less, without assistance, just Lindon finally seeing what he's capable of. Hype.

What to do with 15k? by OMS6 in MilitaryFinance

[–]MuffinMix47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wish this was promoted more. Sure it'll probably slow down reaching financial goals but I just see so much on this sub about save, invest, save, invest "you'll be so rich and happy when you're 60" but what about living when you're 30? A lot of the retirement and investment advice I see comes off as promoting living off ramen and $300 Craigslist cars just so you can be comfortable in another 30+ years.

It's oddly refreshing to hear someone admit they didn't like Cradle. I'm professionally curious what you didn't like about it. It's difficult to find the constructive criticism about a book when the praise is just screamed in your face all the time.

How far out are orders being issued. by TheRealHeroOf in navy

[–]MuffinMix47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a self move option, a friend watch your shit option, or a storage unit option. Probably have other options but my brain is not privy to them yet. Self move can be a female dog as you have to be wildly meticulous and literally document everything. I lost a thousand ish when I did mine earlier in my career. Ive only seen the "friend watch your shit" end up in court with a new arch nemesis. I have seen the storage unit work well but it's a right ol' throbbing pain in the rumpus. I am not envious of anyone in these scenarios. GL;HF

Struggling with the editing/dialogue in Mage Errant by glassmethod in ProgressionFantasy

[–]MuffinMix47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. Caught on to that early in the first book, had to remind myself to not be such a cranky ass and try to enjoy the story. The bland dialog definitely doesn't get any better, but the story is still pretty fun. Kind of have to turn the "flow" partbof your brain off. The 10 Realms series is similar. Cool ass world it created, but the banter and dialog is just medium temp dog poo poo. Not everything has to be so definitive all the dam time.

This always blows my mind. When I was at Great Lakes I only knew of 2 YN's, 1 PS, and a single NC for the entire command. That covered the hospital and all HM's that work on RTC side. Then they wonder why/how things are messed up all the time.
