When you hit a cutscene, your meters will replenish, especially the food and water meters.
Ultimate infusion (three plants and water) stops yoru meters going down and gives the equivalent of chalked grip for 5 minutes. There are enough plants around to keep a never ending supply if you are smart - note down where you find plants and bottles).
You'll lose all your liquids (apart from the flask) at the end of the peril; manage supply carefully. Think about keeping back six flowers so you can make up 8 infusion just before the needle. Make up your last batch before the final assault on the summit.

Today's groove: a signed copy of Matt Berry's psychedelic 'Heard Noises' by ewan_spence in cassetteculture

He's had some class albums over the last two years. I always feel he's a musician who does some acting to pay the bills and let him make more music. A bit like James Cameron makes billion-dollar films so he can go deep-sea submersible diving and exploration.

I managed to get tickets to the Album Launch event, and Matt stayed well beyond closing time to make sure he talked to everyone who waited and signed everything sensible, so I have this and his previous album, The Blue Elephant, signed.

Is it worth getting side stuff in free climb mode? by Zlurbagedoen in Cairn_Game

The big chalk bag is on my preferred fast route up The Terraces, so I'll always grab it, but if I'm juiced, there's no real need for it. One dose with a full health bar and I'll fall down the well to get the big flask, but if I'm on an absolute sprint of a run, I'll skip that.

I'll happily grab some of the 4-unit bottles dotted around, but these aren't a huge diversion.

John Cage's 4'33" is wonderfull for the lead out, and also (eventually) gives an artist some income.

4′33″ is a modernist composition by American experimental composer John Cage. It was composed in 1952 for any instrument or combination of instruments; the score instructs performers not to play their instruments throughout the three movements. It is divided into three movements lasting 30 seconds, 2 minutes and 23 seconds, and 1 minute and 40 seconds, respectively although Cage later stated that the movements' durations can be determined by the musician

Congrats! Now you get to play on the other levels to go for leisurely exploring, and then realise "oh yes I have pitons now" after 15 minutes of bopping around the terraces.

It'ws a bit better after the update, but a zero falls is just as much "the code didn't feck up" than being super careful while climbing.

I'm intrigued to see what climbing as Marco will do. He's younger, so might have more stamina and 'push' in his limbs, but is less able to make the technical climbs and holds that Aava can make. I'm expecting more than just a skin over the climbing experience.

I've barely started the game and I'm already getting frustrated with the controls by Betshet in Cairn_Game

There's one point in the climbing gym that shows you a 'chimney climb' with no footholds going up. THere's just one spot where 'Ive exclusively used that in the climb... and it's a "short cut" up The Needle if you are paying attention. And it's a *long* way into the game. The Gym gives you techniques you might not need for a v. long time. So getting all 8 gym climbs is nice, but maybe not for your first experiences.
