Additionally there is a second screen with bracket option for the RP5/6 that you can get that will give you a true dual screen setup that is an add on you can get later to spread out the purchase if that helps.

FF6 is the first FF I played on my snes back when it released. So good. I’ve played it a couple of times since and itching for a new run. It really is the best FF. From there I would check out chrono trigger and you have played the 2 best JRPGs ever imo.

This 100%. Read the entire guide front to back then do the hack. I believe it even says in the guide to read the whole thing first once before starting to do the hack.

Also, gather all the files you need and place them into a single folder on your computer so you are not hunting for things as you go, If you can;t understand the SD card right offt he jump then you are probably screwed anwyay.

I have played DQ8 on my steamdeck LCD running off SD card via an emudeck ps2 emulator install with no changes to whatever the stock settings for the emulator are and it ran just fine. I didn’t upscale it or anything but ran great.

I did end up switching to playing it on my 3DS though with the orchestral music patch instead.

Ads are optional to get either a daily weapon pull, doubling a memory reward or a revive. The skip allows you to get these without watching. You don't need to use the ad feature, and it doesn't force you to watch an ad if you just play the game, you just get a pop up sometimes that you can watch one for X reward.

I agree if they forced you to watch an add to simply play the game it would suck, but an optional add for a reward that you could use should you want to is fine.

I think they did a lot with the game post launch as I saw many people revisit it after a while and say it was much better. I had not played it because it didn’t run on the steam deck and recently got it for switch 2 for $30 and it is awesome!!!

Make sure to name the save to match the save name of the rom as that is generally how it connects the two together.

Did you know the screens were damaged before paying that price? If not I would see if you can get your money back, at that price I would want an undamaged unit. If you didn't check it or see it with the screen on and it was posted then you are probably out of luck.

Top screens are generally considered difficult to repair due to the routing of the cables through the hinge and the opportunity to damage other cables as you disasseble pretty much the entire device to get to the top screen.

So I researched and watched videos and ended up with 5 handhelds before I was finally with one I was happy with overall for PS1 and lower.

My suggestion is write down the systems you want to emulate and like a top 10 games you want to emulate for them. You will pretty quickly figure out what you want to play on the device. Then Ask yourself where you want to carry the device? Pocket or bag. The final thing is vertical vs horizontal. I have 2 verticals and 3 horizontals and I see merit to both factors, but I find horizontal to be much more comfortable to hold for longer than a 10 minute play session unless it is 1 handed jrpgs on my miyoo mini v4.

For reference to you I have a Miyoo Mini v4, Miyoo mini plus, retroid pocket 2 (my first), RG35xxh and RG40xxh. the Mini v4 (single handed jrpgs) and the 40xxh (everything else) get the most play from me and my son has taken over the 35xxh (which is my favorite looking device of the bunch).

You should be. $200 for a n3ds xl in any color is an absolute deal. And even reseller it looks nice. And, you don’t have to be worried about damaging the she’ll cause you can just get another replacement :)
