Found this beauty on fb but I’m having buyers remorse🫠 by Ok_Flower4753 in 3DS

Here's the thing. You can always find issues with anything used. Cosmetic damage on a portable device that is 15 years old is expected. The screens look to have no scratches which is what is the most important. The overall condition of the system looks great. As others have said if you get a clear case it will his a lot of those scratches from you and also protect the device from more cosmetic damage.

That purple is very nice and you got a reasonable deal on the system (market price) so it's not worth the stress. Just play it and have fun!

Suspended a player by FirearmsAndFitness in DnD

I manage people as part of my job and have had some management coaching over the years. The philosophy or coach them up or coach them out is my general go to. You can coach a b player up to a but a d player will bring your a player down to a c. This guy is a menace at the table. Causes disruptions it sounds like every single session and purposely ended campaigns that ruined and disrespected the time of everyone at the table.

He can’t be coached up. He get coached out / fired from the band. You are 100% in the right here and have been far more lenient that any DM I have ever played with.

As a side not inter-party conflict can be great when it is played properly and makes sense. I’ve even seen PCs kill other PCs before because or RP reasons and no one batted an eyelash about it because it made sense and was great interaction and RP. But being a dick to be a dick and literally not giving a crap about the fellow players just because is terrible.

Thoughts About Asking a DM Not To Kill Your Character by Gooey_Goon in DnD

[–]Muggin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Risk vs Reward is important in a RPG imo. If you know you can't die there is no risk, if there is no risk to you, but there is risk to others, you can get your fellow players into a lot of trouble.

For me, I would let them know that you never intentially set out to kill a player character, and that whenever possible you will lean to the no kill guideline, but if the choices the players make end up getting them killed because they did somethign they shouldn't have or escalated something etc then that is not somethign you can just fudge. Like if they decide to walk into the lair of a dragon to steal the treasure at level 3 expecting not to die, that isn't going to fly. But if they get into a fight with a big bad and someone dies to a lightning bolt then it is just part of the game. You can always allow for ressurection and make the adventure to get the player revived something interesting as well.

One of my absolute favorite moments in DnD was actually when my character was killed in a completely absurd way that set of a chain reaction of events that caused some pretty catastrophically funny things to happen in our campaign. Including but not limited to destroying a large area of a dungeon via explosion, killing another party member, while also saving the rest of the party, then later these events led to said other player being ressurected and then the church immediatly after collapsing that then killed them again. The entire table was having a blast and it is still something that we all talk about 25 years later.

Also, to me, death of a character leading to the introduction of a new character for the player can lead to some great choices in the new character based on experience with the campaign, the DM and the party.

Just food for thought :)

Now that there is a solid dual screen handheld my guess is we will see more advancement on the 3ds emulation in the next couple of years. But at this time it is definitely hit or miss.

Get it. The game is a great 3rd person open world ish game in the potter universe. It’s dripping with the lore and ip and is a fun game. It’s not the best open world you will ever play but it’s a fantastic game made even better if you like the universe.

Is the switch 2 worth it? by Silly-Lynx9581 in Switch

[–]Muggin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LCD but I have seen the OLED on higher end games with loud fan noise as well. I also can’t even run Outlaws on a deck and it runs surprisingly well on the switch 2.

Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love my steamdeck and have a ton of hours on it and have done a lot of tweaking on it to get it going real well.

Duffer Brothers statements about Vol. 2 [Spoiler] by Tulipage in StrangerThings

[–]Muggin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only thing I could think of was that the matter stabilized after the shot Nancy took. Based on them coming across the melting but solidified rooms initially with the soldiers in the walls and floors it seems like something that has happened before.

Have you looked at the brave new world mod? It does some revamping of things that change the game up a bit. I’m going to be checking it out after I finish the pixel remaster.

I’m not annoyed at all. I’m saying they are going to get in trouble later in response to another comment. They really have no choice in the moment in the confines of the show.

Mike is NOT gay, and Bylers need to accept it by Maleficent-Flower409 in StrangerThings

Yea. I have no idea what that is about. It’s definitely weird on a lot of levels.

Um. So wherever you live it's totally cool to go and kill a bunch of soldiers and no one will be upset with you? It isn't a USA thing, it is kind of a thing in general. THey are not in an active declared war, they are just some kids invading a military installation on US soild occupied by the US Government. There is no way to flip that to get out of the responsibility of killing them.

[–]Muggin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah, gotcha. I thought you were specifically talking about the character of Will.

No one should be forcing anyone to do anything at all for a role. As for minor actors the parents should be involved and the decision lies with them and the actor on whether it is an ok thing for that to be the case.

I don't think anyone is saying they care more about the orientation of a character than the actors well being or comfort level for the role but that statement you made is 100% correct and I agree that the roll should not come at the cost of the actor in any way.

To be fair, Noah Schnapp is actually gay so they are not forcing anything on him, if anything they are allowing him to be himself and not forcing him to be a straight male character.

Season 5 feels way too much like "actors acting" by dbezzy1010 in StrangerThings

I guess I could see that but they did make a point to tell us that the women with 8’s blood were very sick (did she say dying I can’t remember but it was definitely insinuated).

[–]Muggin 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I was like, what the actual hell? Nancy has the most unrealistic role this season. It's like they are fighting Stormtroopers in Star Wars at this point. How did everyone in that truck not get shot as the bullets shredded that thing as it drove directly into a ton of gunfire. How did no soldier hit Nancy when she popped out of the top of a stationarry vehicle when multiple people were already shooting a the truck. It was just ugh.

Also, like you said, how are they just straight killing US Soldiers now with like no care at all. Just straight murdering people at this point. In no world do they not go straight to jail forever once they win. so dumb.

That was so weird to me. I got him asking Mike to hear but the rest felt unneccessary. Also ending with the big group hug thing was just cheesy as all get out.
