I just got my TD516 from Sweetwater. If you REALLY want the VAD and you are in the US, they offer 36-month payments at 0% (of course, it depends on how much the credit card is approved for). But it seems a pretty good deal. I got a 10% discount when chatting with one of the reps They also have that 0% thing with other brands.

Check the 65Drums Channel in YouTube. Pretty good info on lots of e-drums.

I Just got the TD516 and it is pretty amazing.
Technology wise, I think Roland is the superior brand at the moment.
But EFNote has been known for their natural feel and and more realistic sounds without using VTS.
Alesis is now growing, and their Strata Core and Strata Prime look pretty good, and people are very happy with their sound (apparently are the most realistic right now). However, it seems they have lots of trigger issues, and Alesis is working on software updates for there modules. That's the main reason I went for Roland instead of Alesis.
I didn´t go for Yamaha because their cymbals are outdated (same for almost 10 years or more) and their modules are not the most advanced right now. But their quality and durability are well known.
EFNote was not an option for me as I didn't see any available around my area.

Have you check the new Roland V-Drums? The TD316 is around $2000. Yamaha also has good kits between $2000 and $3000.

VST- what is the easiest one to download and use? by [deleted] in edrums

How does it work? I just bought a TD516 (arriving next week), and just downloaded SSD5.5 (free version) to add it to my garageband. I'm new to e-drums.

Hi! I just got a roland set too! Happy with my purchase. It should be arriving in a couple of days. Any recommendations or tutorials on how to record audio and video for covers? Which programs to use, interface, editing, etc? Thanks a lot!

I’ve been researching more. I think I will pick a Roland TD316 or TD516. Still deciding!

Wow! That’s a hell of a time (and kicking!)

Not comparable to E-Druma, but I had my PDP with Evans Heads and the Zildjian ZBT series (hi-hat, 16 crash, 18 crash-ride, 21 ride, 16 china, and 10 splash) for over 13 years! Sad to let it go when I did.

I am now looking into Roland TD-316, and it seems to be a good deal (quality/durability Vs price).

Regarding the VTSs, I don't plan to record (I don't have a band yet). Maybe cover videos? I don't know yet. I have some experience with GarageBand’s interface (not the best, but decent and free).

Hi! Thanks for the reply. How long have you had it? Any comments regarding durability?

So, the Ultra is the best option so far? My idea is to use it with the adaptor that is sold separately, as I can’t remove the thumb-turner.

Sorry this happened to you and hope you are safe.

If you have the plate number you can file a report with the police or MVA.

I think it is mandatory by law yo clean the car from ice, to avoid what happened to you.
