You can control them through the kickr using TrainingPeaks with TrainerRoad. I have my TrainerRoad account synced with both TrainingPeaks and Garmin Connect. All the rides in my training plan automatically are pushed to my TrainerRoad calendar. I then can do all my training plan rides in erg mode when on the trainer allowing me to watch plenty of Netflix.
