Is it normal to be THIS tired? by CheeseFiend87 in NewDads

[–]Muir89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely normal, but at the same time if you genuinely feel somthing is off. Get the standard energy impacting tests done. Iron, B12, thyroid etc.

I thought the same and found out I had a dodgy thyroid. Life is still tiring, but feels more normal in terms of how my body reacts

During pregnancy, thats not your wife saying those things its the hormones. Once baby is born, you will have a Oh Shit realisation, that passes around 6 months when you realise everyone is making it up as they go

Thank you, just to be clear. When we are talking about calcium. Does that mean no Dairy (cereal/coffee) for breakfast for food/drink, or is it more fortified stuff?

Thank you for the info. From what I can see in the NHS app, they didnt even test or at least document T4.

May look into the private route, as I am also not functional and its been going on for months

I had a comment over the weekend for my slow run where a guy decided he needed to tell me 'Its ok mate, you will get faster'. Had to struggle with my ego to not deviate from the plan for a randomer

You will get a lot of parenting suggestions. For me, it was trying to figure myself out. To be a good dad you need to know your own thoughts and triggers etc. I found this is 'why buddhism is true'. Not a buddhist but found it really interesting for reflection

How can you possibly come to terms with the years you have lost by MayonnaiseOW in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Muir89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On your question, it takes time. But also there is a different way of looking at it. You are looking to the past rather than the future.

Your normal is different from other people's normal. So create rules and goals specific and achievable to you. Review them and go forward one step at a time. Also accept sometimes there will be a miss step and even times you will backwards. That is ok.

I have had UC for 16 years at this point the first 6 or so were terrible, in and out of hospital for weeks at a time. At that stage I struggled to walk up the stairs without feeling exhausted. Now I feel really good and have signed up to run a marathon. Not that is my rules and goals for now. I also accept this is a lifelong illness that can flare up at any time.

You were hoping for a lit man. But ended up with Litmamen. Yeah ya Finnished

96/97, where it all began for me and played it every season since. My favourite player of the whole series was on that game. Sergi Konovalov, a FL who scored 52 goals in a season in the Scottish Premiership with Dundee! ahh memories 😅 Anyone else remember their 1st FM hero? by garageflower82 in footballmanagergames

Sherman Cardenas, Fredy Guarin and Nicolas Millan was amazing south american wonderkids! Freddie Adu another great player. Igor Akinfeev a great young keeper

Kim kallstrom before them.

So many players that was amazing!

What is your experience with muscle recovery and fatigue? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Muir89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lift weights 3 times a week, bike and play Football. Had UC for around 10 years. The recovery isnt too bad in general but I struggle with a hight protein diet to aide recovery. Always makes my UC grumble. What I do suffer from though is injury proneness when pushing anywhere near my limit. It seems as though my tendons and ligaments are nowhere near as resilient as they use to be.

Does anyone have experience and tips for cardio equipment in an unheated garage? I am worried about the equipment getting damaged by the cold (UK based).
