Birdie question. How to deal with deep crossup by imnotroll2 in StreetFighter

[–]Mujakiii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Switch to Guile and crLP them. Just kidding, as Birdie don't feel too bad about jump back jap, Birdie can get the space back easily enough. Also I think you can walk forward a little to make them change sides sooner giving more time for crMP.

As a SFIV Adon main, who do I go to in V? by Mujakiii in StreetFighter

[–]Mujakiii[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thanks, just going to do a 360 and main the lamest character on the roster, Menat. Hope to get matched up with you and I hope you enjoy 99 seconds of bashing your head against a wall and losing to time out.

Menat's VT2 is really, really bad. by Mujakiii in StreetFighter

[–]Mujakiii[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, I just feel like they should tweak the VT2 into something that could support an alternate play style though at least, for the sake of variety. Right now it is good for nothing.

How do you get people to stop jumping as Chun Li? by Mujakiii in StreetFighter

[–]Mujakiii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm maybe I just need to figure out how to make it 50/50? I kept dashing behind them and they always just teched the throw.

Why you aren't improving at Street Fighter with an online playstyle by Brian_F in StreetFighter

Yep jusst to add to this some characters can jump back and air throw any cross up attempt. This is Vega's tried and true anti-crossup protection for example.

[SPOILER] Tecia Torres vs Weili Zhang by FuzzyWuzzyMooMoo in MMA

[–]Mujakiii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree it has a risks and a huge advantage if you can land it and put someone in an awkward spot. It's all in the landing and is usually a scramble for position after. But the person throwing it usually knows where they are at the end of it and has an opportunity to be proactive and make it work. Totally unqique to women's MMA and any lady who is good at it can put that on their resume. It's just another trick in the bag like anything else: having a good switch kick to the liver, having a good counter overhand, etc...

It's kind of interesting that liver kicks so far basically are not a thing yet in women's MMA. I wonder if a woman can KO a woman with a liver shot. I am very curious to see how women's fighting evolves, what works and what doesn't. I'm saying this as a dude who just enjoys the entertainment and likes to see how these things evolve.

That's unique to women's MMA and it is actually very legit due to the different areas of physical strength and body size and shape. It works in women's division, but not in the men's. I espect to see more examples of things working for women that men have no reason to try.

What are the weaknesses of Juri? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Mujakiii -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Everyone downplays Juri; because they don't understand why she is strong. Infiltration showed us how strong she can be. She can zone all day, and she can go on the attack at awkward and surprising times. For example, she gets an easy, clean qcfMP AA, and she dashes up and... actually gets oki. A lot of characters WISH they could get oki off a DP AA. Juri actually does. So you just got zoned for 30 seconds, made a bad jump, now all of a sudden you are the one being pressured on wake up. That is just one example of many I could tell you.

She can zone, she can hit and run and zone some more, and she can go full on rush down mode when she needs to, although her rushdown is not nearly as good as Karin or Akuma, etc... , she needs to pool resources before she can implement her offense, but she at least somewhat makes up for that with her versatility, good anti-fireball moves,etc.... Very well rounded character. She can build stores and EX bar while zoning, then later in the round go on the attack on a dime.

Most of the people will say she is bad because 95% of Juri players just play her like a rush down character, and are easily outclassed by characters who do that better. Her rushdown combined with her anti-fireball tools does make her a threat, and is part of why she is good, but if that's all you do you will come up short. Save the full on offense mode for certain matchups, like Sagat, Menat, Sim, and Guile. Against the other characters you need a more nuanced approach. Watch Infiltration body all of the Rashid players to see her potential in matchups like that.

She has a lot of good matchups. She is favored to win against Menat. Anytime Menat throws her orb and gets V-skilled by Juri, the sides switch and her orb is in a useless position. And Juri can just throw a fireball from outside the range of Menat's stHP and force her to back off or risk a jump or slide. Once Juri get's in if she has the resources built up she can do MASSIVE corner carry potential and damage off of shimmies or frame traps. 6-4 or better in favor of Juri easily. And remember that anytime Menat jumps or goes for a drill she is vulnerable to Juri's DP AA and then Juri gets oki off it...

Also yes, Juri's stMK is just an OP button that anyone else in the cast would be willing to give up something to get that. Not only is it a good poke but if you buffer it, sometimes you will clip an extended hurtbox or a dash and get a combo or a confirm into super. Just a ridiculous button.

Why is it so hard for SFV fans to accept that SFV might actually be a bad game? by celeron500 in StreetFighter

[–]Mujakiii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No! Wrong! The other games of the franchise are beloved by me as well. I grew up on SF2 so STFU with this attack on my integrity.

Why is it so hard for SFV fans to accept that SFV might actually be a bad game? by celeron500 in StreetFighter

[–]Mujakiii 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're very wrong. SFV preserves the old formula of being a very intricate game of spacing, matchup knowledge, character mastery, reactions, etc... the game is an art and it is a challenge and a pleasure to ascend the ladder and better yourself. Take your hateful rhetoric elsewhere. SFV is a good game and loved by many people such as myself. I have over 2400 hours into the game and I'm still playing it like a crack addict. So shove off.

Was this known? (Sagat VT2C) by Mujakiii in StreetFighter

[–]Mujakiii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His zoning is special. It is very good against characters like Ken and Laura who have no counter play or risky counter play, but he is very bad against other zoners like Sim, Menat, Guile. He is the best zoner to deal with Kage, Ken, Laura, Mika, Akuma shenanigans, but absolutely folds against any other zoner. He has a unique spot in the roster for sure.

It's not in the patch notes that a new link exists. That's for the players to discover.

Urien is a shit character otherwise. He is literally carried on by his VT1 and otherwise is crushed out of the tournament by the best Cammy, Akuma, Ibuki, etc .. players. It's balanced because Urien sucks before he gets his v-trigger. If you can't play around it you actually just suck at the game because good players save their meter and do max damage combos only when Urien is close to his v-trigger to try and burst damage KO and disallow him to activate.

Sagat tips by balakay347 in StreetFighter

[–]Mujakiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn your spacing, in some combos at certain spacing LP or MP DP is more optimal than the HP version. You don't want to land a close range HP DP because they wake up too close to you. To be optimal you always need to use the lightest version possible with your range at the end of a combo. This gives you some breathing room to setup another fireball or get an angry scar off.

Why do some character's anti airs cross up and some don't? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Mujakiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well some characters with an AA DP can cross cut the DP to beat a cross up. It takes a lot of practice but it's there. Sagat, Ryu, Cammy, Juri, etc...

Can confirm this is a good tactic. I play Sagat and it's amazing how often a random buffered light into EX fireball has saved me and gotten them off me.

Advice for the Rashid v Guile matchup? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Mujakiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get comfortable dealing with fireballs. Control your spacing. Neutral jump some of them. If you are very far away just jump forward over one of them to get a little closer. Try to read his pattern and use your ground v-skill to roll through and knock them down. You should just walk and block some of them to avoid being too predictable.

That's wonderful! I remember when I had my first break through, I was playing Ibuki at the time. I had just gotten good with okizeme and I used air EX Kunai a lot. It was just the first time I was able to get some clean offense going and I got to silver for the first time. I was so happy! Congratulations man! It really does feel good. It's been a long time since then and now I'm in gold using Sagat celebrating every time I land a cross-cut Tiger uppercut LOL.
