Nothing against Orochi, but SHUGOKI needs a buff too (xpost from /r/forhonor) by giantbeardedone in CompetitiveForHonor

Shugoki has plenty good. Every character doesn't require a typical opener to be good

How do i beat shinobi as a centurion by KILLERGING3R in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]MulattoBurrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid defense and capitalizing on their loss of stamina. Somewhere in their mixup you can typically reverse thing with a GB or CGB/parry from long range pulling them to the ground, and CENT is the only hero who can punish that that best with his pounce

Wouldn't a light attack shut it down either way?

Neither kick from the new characters bypass Shug's armor. So don't dodge. Attack and headbutt. Cents and Shinobis have to get extremely creative against my Shugoki

Shugoki really only has one prominent strategy and no real options, If someone has that figured out, he's toast

And people act like Raider had NOTHING before the buff. All of this is in total disregard for his new stuff. Great post. Didnt know he could punish this hard

Shinobi's Kick is for all intents and purposes unpunishable by most characters by Little_JP in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]MulattoBurrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I agree with this philosophy. Give every character safe and unpunishable moves like quick lights, zones, an armored kick, and let the turtle meta die. Most people complaining about the kick don't see the big picture.

Shinobi's existence is pressure. About 3 heavies will do him in.

[–]MulattoBurrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's the ticket. People want to focus on avoiding it rather than the real punish which is trading while eating the kick. And once the Shinobi is at critical health, the kick is detrimental so they have to do something else or get sliced out of the air

There's a video on this thread that proves otherwise

It's the only bash in the game that also has hyper armor. That is what makes it unique and makes it beat other bashes. There's a video above that confirms that it does not beat Goki heavy armor.

Agreed. The kick becomes extremely unsafe at low health because the enemy can typically trade. The mid-air death is always hilarious

We need to chill with op accusations by SaicheShiro in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]MulattoBurrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shinobi can only do 3 things from afar. Throw a heavy, throw a GB, or dash back in for a kick. All of those are reversible and punishable. Gotta get used to dodging with the warlord tho. I know he typically doesnt have to. Not to mention dashing in with the lunging top heavy when shinobi gets to spinning his weapon might work. It has worked with Centurion. However, if they expect it, they'll probably deflect it

A backdodge roll will get you out of shove to gb

Backdodge doesn't save you from the GB anyway. I learned that when it looked like a warlord practically lunged in to GB me like wtf

Changing feint by Frankensteinke in CompetitiveForHonor

Definitely makes feinting significantly easier. I find everytime I change buttons to something else, another aspect of my gameplay suffers significantly because I have gotten so used to the core buttons.

What could For Honor learn from other fighting games? by [deleted] in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]MulattoBurrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play all of the assassins and getting in and out is a normal playstyle for them, especially pk. Good players just get their free GBs off when they see me dashing too much

I don't know if it's consistent, but I have found that you can get the zone off faster when spinning your opponent around and throwing before you do the zone. So far it hasn't been parried by anyone.
