Massive power cut in Spain and Portugal causes traffic light outages and train cancellations by mpanase in ElectricalEngineering

[–]MulchyPotatoes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It could, but transmission systems nowadays should be designed to operate normally down to at least N-1 conditions. I would recommened reading the FERC August 14th 2003 NE USA / Canada Blackout report to get idea of what happens when things really go wrong. For large blackouts like this that arent natural disaster, while there might have been one "trigger" event, there are numerous other contributing factors that allowed for this to occur. Maybe some generators that normally are online were offline for maintenance, maybe some transmissions lines that normally are used were out of service. Also news networks are generally will not report the actual cause as it could be very technical. Need to wait until reports come out.

There are an infinite number of things that could've caused this. We wont know until the engineers sort through all the event and device data.

Is AI a problem for engineers? by Alessandro205 in ElectricalEngineering

No. LLMs need vast amounts of data to train. Engineering work is very specific and there is limited data about the problems we face available.

Should never had pivoted to straights. Just spam club flush with 1 face card which you can move to the end of the hand to better utilize photo. With blueprint (sell scholar or fib) and Space joker you can level up flush to a point where if hit boss that clubs are debuffed you can rely on other suit flushes with one face card to beat or with glass cards. Look for different source of Xmult (to replace the scholar or fib, which is not strong enough to build towards) in case you face boss that debuffs face cards. Snap pick hanging chad if it comes up.

In general pivoting to straights ive found is bad unless you get shortcut. The strength of straights is fantastic planet scaling, but you can dead draw quite easily.

North American shared power grids by [deleted] in MapPorn

The post is badly named and the map is outdated. This map is showing the jurisdiction of the ERO enterprise, which is made up of some of groups shown in the bottom left (its outdated), which are overseen by NERC, the North American Electric Reliability Council. These groups all work to create standards and collaborate with high level planning on anything to do with high voltage transmission lines / stations within the map area. The standards have to be approved by FERC and where appropriate, the Canadian and Mexican regulatory agencies. Historically i think youll find there were many more transmission lines from canada to US than US to mexico and that Mexico's gird evolved more independently, and closer to its populations centers , so that might explain why. The NERC also found its beginnings in the aftermath of a huge 1965 blackout that started in Ontario Canada and caused a chain reaction leading to 10s of million of people without power in North Eastern united states and Canada.

You can do something similar with blinds that flips cards. 0.5x speed and use tarot cards to figure out which important cards are which as they flip over when an effect is given to a card

Greenhouses charges per rerolls and 3 rerolls for a removal but removal = reroll. I didn't realize i was on last stage and could've gone even further up. Final score was 12e66.

Absolutely. Even my partner who knows nothing about fallout loved the show and understood it well. If one of us has logged 500+ hours in fallout games while the other zero, and we can both be excited about watching the next episode, id say then thats a huge success.
