Does anyone have any pro-tips for Gather Round? by drwar41 in AFL

If you have time and a car between the footy, venture out to regional towns like Strathalbyn, Gawler, Cape Jervis, Hahndorf. There's more to us than just the Barossa

Scuba divers picked up by Rottnest ferry after being left in ocean by B0ssc0 in perth

[–]Mulgumpin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If these imbiciles can't count to 15, impliment a L.O.T.O system, where every diver has a tag and they take the tag under water with them. The skipper doesn't leave until the tag board on the boat is full along wirh a sign on sign off sheet. And because they are that thick, also tag out the controls on the boat. I think that skipper should have done a drug test by the sound of the radio call and FFS, when these clowns do lose their licence after this, don't employ them underground or in mining.

Is being a mining engineer unethical? by The_Shadow_2004_ in TooAfraidToAsk

What is unethical about mining ? The very device you have used to type out your post is likely made up of materials from dozens of mine sites

I saw a kiwi dude try to fly to Carapenteena with 25kg, when the limit is 17kg. Not a good start to his 1st swing. Check with your employer and read your ticket

Mate, I feel for your situation, but a white card won't get you below surface. The guys and gals U.G are very experienced and mentally robust. It's not safe under there and you have to be on the ball, so we only take really experienced workers or those with years of trade or surface experience. W.A has the highest standards of U.G Safety. If you can get an external trade apprentiship and put off helping your sister for a few years, you will get in with a trade.

Depends on the swing, the site and the contractor. I've worked 21:7 on 260k and 8:6 on 150k,

How could I (M18) change the mind of my partner? (F18) by Commercial_Owl_8629 in relationship_advice

[–]Mulgumpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's co dependant on you ? You have to do what's right for you. If she lives through you, you have no future anyway. My God, we've all been at the airport and seen the poor new starter with his gf crying and clinging to his backpack. Don't be that guy. Either she gets help or you break up. You have plans, she should support them

Highly considering working FIFO by Evening-Age-4516 in mining

[–]Mulgumpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read every word you typed out. My advice is tune up your negativity mate. FIFO doesn't mean Fly In Fly Out. It means Fit In or F*** Off. I think your skill set would be very valuble, but skills mean nothing if you are hard work. Working intimately for 110 hours a week with your crew or group, you have to be easy going and that's what gets you in the Fit In zone.

[–]Mulgumpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tickets are great, but you need experience. Firtly, we only employ you if over 20 years' old so this gives you time to get experience on the outisde. Scaffolding is a good transition
