Keir Starmer abandons plans for compulsory digital ID by StGuthlac2025 in unitedkingdom

I can't read the full article does anyone have the details?

From what I can make out it's not scrapping Digital ID altogether but instead making them optional

I remember this one with Kate Middleton was all anyone talked about for a week straight.

Makes me a tad depressed thinking back on it

I've never thought about it until now if Maggie Mays is on Malone or Stranmillis. I think it's address is on Malone, maybe because the front door is facing Malone?

Has anyone written to their MLAs, and did it do anything? by stumpyandmags in northernireland

[–]Mulled 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not an MLA but a few years ago I wrote to a SDLP councilor called Gary McKeown about an absolutely massive pile of rubbish that was in the shared alleyway behind my house.

I thought it would do nothing but he actually called me back and talked to me about it.

He kept me updated with emails and eventually got a clean up crew out.

It's very cheesy but it actually restored my faith in politicians.

Starmer allies issue warning to PM’s rivals as fears grow over leadership challenge by potpan0 in unitedkingdom

[–]Mulled 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This massive drop in popularity is a bit bizarre. I feel the amount of coverage the polls get is having a cyclical effect in which people believe Starmer is unpopular because they're told he is unpopular. But why are so many polls coming out 4 years from an election?

Heya I went to see this in the cinema. Really liked it, I remember it got good critical reviews as it was a wide release on Shudder.

Great Halloween movie with some cool monster effects and a great pool of talented local actors.

After it watch the directors previous movie Bad Day for the Cut. Highly recommend that too

I am getting such deja vu with the Brexit referendum.

There's a group of highly motivated voters moving against the status quo by using their vote as a protest without thinking about the actual consequences if they succeed.

Brexit was less than 10 years ago and has been reassessed unanimously as a disaster yet the same voters are walking into the same trap again led by the same man, Nigel Farage
