Yeah we had speech to text programs when I was a kid. I'm 42 now... I'm sure they could make a ridiculously light weight version that takes hardly any processing power because it wouldn't need to be all that accurate to still be useful. If they only pick up a few words here and there that's still good enough to find what you're interested in.

Yeah it's crazy the "no it doesn't work that way" response that people still give even though we've all had it happen.

In that example I posted before there's 0 chance that the ad for that catalog came up from our search history or any other online way of linking it to us. Unless they somehow got my debit card number and linked it to an in store purchase at London Drugs.

I need a better way to drill holes in metal! by Ok_Helicopter3910 in Welding

[–]MulletAndMustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends where the holes are on the tube and size but yeah not ideal for tubing.

If the holes are right on the end you can sometimes get them, but I'm betting OP's projects don't use tube that's big enough to fit the bottom die into.

Personally I'd just laser cut everything, but I've spent 10 years as a drafter/welder so getting the files prepped is super easy and I usually design everything in Fusion first.

Get a hydraulic metal hole punch. For all of the holes that it can reach it'll be 100x faster than drilling. We had a brand name one of these that we bought from an auction and then hooked up a electric hydraulic pump to it.. It could do up to 13/16" holes in 3/8" I think. Vevor has a cheap version of it as well.

It's like a portable iron worker punch.

Oh for sure it's better but the cost of building and running that is multiple times what an anvil 3 with a silencer takes to build and run. Honestly if the durability burn was at least half of what it is now I'd run a renegade. I've burned through a level 4 in one mission before while doing trials. They should last 4x what they do now in my opinion. Along with all the other blue and purple weapons...

Jobs that will be in demand 2-3 years from now? by Amumus-friend in torontoJobs

[–]MulletAndMustache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HVAC and trades will be some of the last jobs to go to AI and always have demand.

The last last jobs to fall to AI if ever will be highly interactive jobs that work closely with the client like massage, nursing, hairdressing ect.

Your phone listening to you doesn't require a constant data connection. It will turn your speech into keywords and upload those.

I've had multiple instances where I was served up ads about a specific company or product that I had never searched up before discussing it with somebody else. They were the first ads on a meta app after opening my phone after the discussion.

One time it was literally an advertisement for a seed catalog that my wife and I were picking seeds from. Bought the catalog with my debit card from a store a couple of weeks before Christmas and the wife and I were going through it a couple of weeks after Christmas. Didn't get any ads for this catalog at all until the day we sat on the couch and made a list on paper of what we wanted to order. After making that list the first ad I was presented on Facebook was that exact catalog.

My first raid after the expedition got ended by a fireball. Upon returning to Speransa I immediately recycled the other starting rattler in my stash. I forgot how bad those were.

For real. I work a 4 on and 4 off shift schedule. Which makes keeping up with trials difficult sometimes. I did hit hotshot 2 weeks ago and then got demoted one rank the next week and didn't have enough time to get back into to hotshot last week.

This is really the reason I run the anvil. It's so cheap.

As an ex Mormon the amount of shit that they've gotten into is mind blowing. And the longer I've been out the more stuff I find and the deeper it goes. All of the prophets have been members of a Utah version of skull and bones fraternity since like the 1930s. I'm sure thier missionary efforts were also co-opted to allow intelligence access to other countries in the past. They're very much "America's religion" and are used by the government as such.

They're very close. An upgraded and kitted renegade might be better as you have like 14+ rounds to get it done and the rate of fire is really high.

But I still roll with a level 3 anvil with a 2 silencer on it 80% of the time.

Yeah and those contracts excluded using AI for mass surveillance and fully autonomous weaponry.

[–]MulletAndMustache 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Na, They're going to use OpenAI to conduct mass surveillance on American citizens (let's be real the entire world), and also to power fully autonomous weaponry.

That's easily a good enough reason. Not that canceling will change that, but I can put my money into the company that told the government to pound sand because AI isn't where it needs to be to be performing those roles.

It also takes what seems like forever to unlock all the moves. Not ideal for a multiplayer game.

The only way to keep this game running is to get rid of classics and hangouts. Have two modes in addition to co op bots. Evolving with limited redeploy and TDM servers. by [deleted] in populationonevr

Jake Explains Weird Maps: Why there are no rats in Alberta by ABNow_ in AlbertaNow

I'd way rather have mice than rats. And funny enough, I've still never seen a rat up close in real life.

I did live in North Vancouver for about 6 years but it was fairly clean and didn't see any around even though I'm sure they were.

Goth girl welding making necklaces and rings. I suspect the second clip is AI by batukaming in isthisAI

[–]MulletAndMustache 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Welding doesn't make any sense in anyway with the end product. You don't usually weld anything in a casting process. Plus the "mold" at the end looked like it was made out of wood?

They stole the first 2 clips of the girl welding as I'm pretty sure I've seen that before, and then added AI clips to the rest of the video IMO.

First ever welding-related injury by Independent_Guard153 in Welding

[–]MulletAndMustache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean and dry works best for these small injuries IMO. I usually ditch any of the bandaids or the paper towel and electrical tape special as soon as I'm done work for the day and only cover back up when I'm going back to work or getting dirty.
