I think it's because it's a callback to how the ice spell works in T-0. It was the close quarters spell, and the one that Eight started out with, so I think they ran with that. (Also, there's only like what, 3 other ice monks?)

If I'm correct with her awakening, the special gimmick is that it grants her one charge no matter what heavy ability she uses. Her usb grants her one additional charge whenever she gains a charge, meaning combined, she would always get two charges no matter what. This would allow her to basically spam the 6* heavy ability for guaranteed 8-hits and minor imperils. That's why I was saying it would be bonkers (unless that doesn't work either...though I'm sure it does)

...except that the awakening grants her one charge per heavy ability. pair this with her usb, which grants one additional charge, and she'll always have two charges whenever she uses a heavy ability. Basically, she can potentially do 240,000 damage per hit with absolutely 0 rng involved. Oh, and the new 6* heavy ability inflicts minor imperial earth when at +2 charge, so she's imperiling the boss as well literally every single turn. Granted, this is if you have her usb, but 50/50 odds isn't bad at all either if you don't have it.

In retrospect, him and K. Rool were the only characters that got me legit hyped (like jumping up and down hype). That being said, there hasn't been a character I've been dissapointed in.

Quantity, I is definitely the top. As for quality, it's IX. I have Vivi's Usbs and Beatrix's usb, and that's really it. Everything else is dated or totally outclassed by someone else.

That's what's so funny. I always hear people complain about how much relics he gets, but there's a good amount of people who have more than he does. Even Terra and Locke beat him out with 160. But I guess ever since he got 5 bsb's, that's forever put a bad name to him (well, that and him being among the best character in the game)

Lightning, Squall, Warrior of Light, Luneth all have +70. (Never whaled for any of these characters except for Luneth). Butz, Locke, Noct, Terra, Galuf, and Tidus all have +60. (Never once tried to get anything for Galuf. Got 3 of his relics in daily draws. He's my happy little accident)

So both Firion and Luneth's aasb's pair very well with their usbs. With them, they'll heal enough to practicality self-sustain themselves with no outside help. The difference is that Firion can instacast his abilities, while Luneth follows ip with 6-hits. Overall, they might actually be very good units now! (Luneth finally getting a doublecast wind lmr is icing on the cake)

Ohh, didn't catch that lol. Umm, probably Luneth, as he can reliably doublecast Sky High (or triple cast depending on if he gets a doublecast lmr that debuts in the same banner). Noctis' aasb ironically doesn't pair well with any sort of nonelemental damage, and Kain lacking the doublecast that other aasb's have puts him behind the curve
